Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the full-cycle accounting function for a fast-growing health-tech company that is re-defining how 6 million Americans access specialty care. You will be the senior-most accountant on a lean, remote-first finance team, reporting directly to the Controller and partnering with leaders across Clinical Operations, Network Development, and Product to translate complex transactions into clear, GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • • Drive month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for multiple entities, ensuring every journal entry, reconciliation, and flux analysis is accurate, timely, and audit-ready. You will design repeatable workflows in NetSuite that shrink the close from 10 business days to 5, freeing the team to focus on strategic insights instead of manual ticking-and-tying.
  • • Build scalable revenue recognition models for a hybrid B2B2C model that includes capitated PMPM fees, shared-savings arrangements, and episodic case rates. You will partner with Data Science to automate the ingestion of claims and eligibility files, then work with Legal and Sales to draft technical memos that stand up to Big-4 scrutiny.
  • • Lead the implementation of ASC 842 lease accounting and stock-based compensation (ASC 718) as Lantern expands its national footprint of specialty centers and continues to grant equity to top talent. Your documentation will become the template used by FP&A, Legal, and People teams for forecasting, fundraising, and compensation design.
  • • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax preparers, and state regulators. You will own PBC lists, manage sampling methodologies, and present findings to the Audit Committee, turning what used to be a fire drill into a well-orchestrated quarterly update.
  • • Design and monitor internal controls over cash, procure-to-pay, and payroll cycles in a 100 % remote environment. You will leverage Bill.com, Ramp, and Rippling to create exception reports that surface anomalies before they become material weaknesses.
  • • Translate complex accounting policies into plain-English playbooks for non-finance teammates. Whether it’s explaining why a new infusion-suite lease is classified as a finance lease or training Care Advocates on proper expense coding, you will become the go-to resource for financial literacy across Lantern.
  • • Partner with FP&A to build rolling 18-month forecasts that inform board decks, investor updates, and lender covenants. Your scenario models will help leadership decide when to open the next cancer center or negotiate risk-based contracts with new health-system partners.
  • • Champion continuous improvement by evaluating new ERP modules, AP automation tools, and AI-driven reconciliation software. You will run cost-benefit analyses and pilot programs that keep Lantern at the forefront of tech-enabled finance.
  • • Mentor junior staff and offshore resources, creating a culture of curiosity, accountability, and customer obsession. Your feedback will shape promotion paths and ensure the next generation of Lantern accountants can scale with the company’s 3Ă— revenue growth trajectory.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Canadian CPA (or U.S. CPA with Canadian experience) and 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a SaaS, healthcare, or other high-growth, multi-entity environment
  • • Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, with hands-on application of ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718; experience preparing financial statements that have passed Big-4 audits
  • • NetSuite super-user: advanced saved searches, custom segments, multi-book consolidations, and familiarity with ZoneBilling, LeaseQuery, or similar modules
  • • Demonstrated success shortening month-end close cycles through process redesign and system automation; advanced Excel and SQL skills preferred

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote, Canada-wide role with flexible hours and an annual $1,500 home-office stipend
  • • Competitive base salary plus performance bonus and equity in a Series C company backed by top-tier VCs
  • • 100 % employer-paid extended health, dental, and vision for you and eligible dependents, plus a $1,000 annual wellness credit
  • • 4 weeks paid vacation, 10 personal days, and a 12-week gender-neutral parental leave policy that truly supports new parents
