📋 Description
- • Lead the design and delivery of advanced medical cost forecasting solutions to improve claim reserving and enterprise financial forecasting accuracy.
- • Prototype and validate new analytical approaches using time series modeling, simulation, and machine learning techniques tailored to healthcare cost trends.
- • Develop diagnostics and performance metrics to evaluate forecast accuracy and identify key drivers of medical cost variability.
- • Partner with finance, actuarial, and business teams to translate forecasting needs into actionable data science solutions.
- • Communicate complex analytical findings through clear presentations, visualizations, and technical documentation to support executive and operational decision-making.
- • Build early-warning analytics systems to detect emerging cost trends and potential financial risks in medical claims data.
- • Collaborate with data engineering and product teams to ensure scalable, reproducible, and interpretable forecasting models are deployed into production.
- • Contribute to model governance, monitoring, and continuous improvement processes to maintain model integrity and regulatory compliance.
- • Mentor junior data science team members and promote best practices in statistical modeling, code quality, and analytical rigor across the data science community.
- • Work with large-scale healthcare datasets using platforms such as Databricks and Spark to extract insights and build predictive models.
- • Ensure all analytical solutions align with organizational goals for financial stability, cost predictability, and strategic planning in healthcare delivery.
- • Maintain rigorous documentation of model assumptions, data sources, and methodology to support audit readiness and cross-functional transparency.
- • Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to model medical cost trends under varying scenarios and external market conditions.
- • Translate business constraints and financial objectives into technical requirements for forecasting model development.
- • Support the integration of forecasting outputs into broader enterprise financial planning and budgeting cycles.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field
- • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, machine learning, and statistical modeling
- • Hands-on experience with forecasting techniques such as time series analysis, simulation, or scenario modeling
- • Experience working with large datasets using platforms such as Databricks or Spark
- • Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to technical and business audiences
- • Experience partnering cross-functionally to deliver data-driven solutions
