Senior AI Automation Engineer

📋 Description

• • Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of scalable, secure, and intelligent data products and AI automation solutions to support HackerOne’s transformation into an AI-first organization.
• • Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure that serve as the foundation for AI-powered systems and agentic operations.
• • Design and deploy AI-powered automation solutions that eliminate routine, manual work and unlock human capacity for strategic direction, creativity, and edge-case governance.
• • Partner across business and engineering teams to identify high-leverage opportunities for automation, integration, and system modernization.
• • Drive the architecture and execution of platform-level capabilities, leveraging AI and modern tooling to reduce manual effort, improve decision-making, and increase system resilience.
• • Provide technical leadership to internal engineers and external development partners, ensuring design quality, operational excellence, and long-term maintainability.
• • Shape and contribute to incident and on-call response strategy, playbooks, and processes, focusing on building systems that fail gracefully and recover quickly.
• • Mentor other engineers, advocate for technical excellence, and promote a culture of innovation, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
• • Champion effective change management and enablement, ensuring systems are not only launched but adopted, understood, and evolved.
• • Operate across two complementary dimensions: building scalable data infrastructure that powers AI systems and designing AI-powered automation solutions that free employees from routine, manual work.
• • Apply first-principles problem solving and data-driven learning to adapt and improve systems over time.
• • Work within a Flexible Work approach, with the role targeted for candidates within ~50 miles of Boston, MA; Austin, TX; or Washington, DC, enabling occasional in-person collaboration while maintaining remote work benefits.
• • Contribute to the Enterprise Data & AI team’s mission to democratize source of truth information, transformative insights, and AI tooling to power enhanced decision-making and autonomous execution.
• • Ensure all solutions align with HackerOne’s values of Customer Obsession, Default to Disclosure, and Win Together.
• • Translate operational needs into scalable, automated systems using AI and modern tooling to reduce manual effort and improve system resilience.
• • Present data-driven narratives in verbal, presentation, and written formats to stakeholders across the organization.
• • Maintain and evolve infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
• • Work with data technologies and tools including Airflow and AWS to support AI and automation initiatives.
• • Contribute to architectural enhancements and champion new initiatives with substantial company-wide impact.
• • Engage in an early-stage environment, solving ambiguous problem statements with agility and innovation.
• • Support Agile and iterative development processes in the delivery of AI and SaaS capabilities.
