- • Work directly within business functions—including Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Legal, and Customer Success—to observe workflows, identify pain points, and co-create AI-powered solutions that eliminate bottlenecks and deliver measurable time savings.
- • Build and deploy custom AI workflows, automations, and tools using AI platforms and APIs, ensuring each solution is grounded in real user needs and produces tangible operational improvements.
- • Coach team members one-on-one and in group sessions to develop their AI literacy, transitioning them from initial experimentation to confident, independent use of AI tools in daily work.
- • Identify reusable AI solutions developed for one team and adapt them for cross-functional deployment across the organization, maximizing impact and reducing duplication of effort.
- • Establish and maintain standardized documentation for all AI tools, workflows, and lessons learned to ensure knowledge retention and scalability beyond individual contributors.
- • Define and implement a framework to track AI adoption metrics across business units, regularly reporting progress, usage patterns, and ROI to IT leadership.
- • Collaborate with IT, Security, and Engineering teams to help shape Kong’s internal AI governance policies, ensuring compliance, security, and ethical use of AI technologies.
- • Mentor junior team members and interns by providing hands-on guidance, structured feedback, and opportunities to contribute to real-world AI enablement projects.
- • Continuously monitor emerging AI developments and translate relevant advancements into practical, business-aligned applications tailored to Kong’s operational context.
- • Act as a bridge between technical capabilities and non-technical users, translating complex AI concepts into accessible, actionable insights without condescension or jargon.
- • Operate with high autonomy, prioritizing initiatives that generate the greatest organizational value without requiring rigidly defined roadmaps or constant oversight.
- • Contribute to the development of internal toolkits, playbooks, and training programs that outlive your direct involvement and are adopted at scale across departments.
- • Leverage familiarity with enterprise SaaS platforms such as Okta, Slack, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Jira, and Freshservice to integrate AI solutions seamlessly into existing workflows.
- • Apply understanding of API management concepts—including Kong Konnect and Kong Gateway—to design AI tools that effectively connect models, data sources, and business systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in a technical or cross-functional role requiring problem-solving across teams and functions
- • Proven track record of building AI-powered tools, automations, or workflows that transformed how real work gets done, with specific examples
- • Experience helping others develop new technical skills through coaching, training, or enablement programs
- • Clear, concise communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- • Comfort with ambiguity and self-direction; ability to initiate and drive projects without detailed roadmaps
- • Experience working in or with an IT organization or comparable role supporting business operations across multiple functions
