📋 Description

• As a Senior AI Engineer at Fieldguide, you will design and build AI agents that automate complex audit and advisory workflows, enabling trust between businesses through reliable, production-grade systems.
• You will own the full lifecycle of AI agents—from translating customer problems into agent behaviors to orchestrating LLMs, tools, retrieval, and business logic—while ensuring reliability, performance, and observability.
• You will accelerate development using AI-native practices, prototype quickly, harden systems for enterprise use, and build evaluation frameworks and feedback loops to continuously improve agent performance.
• You will partner with Product and Design to define high-impact capabilities, make strategic trade-offs based on customer value, and mentor teammates by raising the quality bar through code reviews, design feedback, and creating reusable patterns and tooling.
• You will work in a remote-first, mission-driven environment backed by top investors, serving over 50 of the top 100 accounting and consulting firms, where your work directly impacts mission-critical audit and compliance processes.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong command of TypeScript, Python, and Postgres
• Experience shipping LLM-powered features serving real production traffic
• Hands-on experience with modern LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic) and agent frameworks
• Built retrieval pipelines, agent orchestration systems, and evaluation frameworks for model outputs
• Worked with vector databases, embedding models, and RAG architectures
• 3–6+ years shipping production software in complex, real-world systems
