Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Build and deploy production-grade AI Employees on Supernal’s proprietary platform, designing backend services, data models, and CRUD applications that power real business workflows
- • Design, implement, and maintain integrations with external systems including APIs, webhooks, and third-party tools to enable AI Employees to safely act on live business data
- • Engineer conversational and agentic AI systems that handle multi-turn dialogues, real-time constraints, state management, and graceful recovery from interruptions or failures
- • Own end-to-end technical delivery of high-priority client implementations — from translating customer SOWs into technical designs to launching production-ready AI systems
- • Make architectural decisions across LLM orchestration, RAG design, function calling, prompt engineering, and workflow decomposition to ensure reliability and scalability
- • Implement robust error handling practices: distinguish retryable from fatal failures, surface actionable error messages, prevent silent failures, and design fallback paths for API chaos
- • Write and maintain comprehensive automated tests — including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end user journey validations — treating testing as non-negotiable to production quality
- • Debug complex production issues spanning agent logic, prompts, integrations, telephony systems, and external dependencies with systematic, high-fidelity analysis
- • Partner with delivery and product leadership to manage timelines, scope, and technical tradeoffs during client implementation cycles
- • Review technical work across the team for quality, scalability, and maintainability, consistently raising the engineering bar through rigorous standards
- • Document and evolve best practices for building, testing, monitoring, and supporting reliable AI Employees in production environments
- • Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and reusable components that improve team-wide predictability and reduce operational overhead
- • Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and implementation choices clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in written and verbal formats
- • Operate autonomously in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment — driving decisions, initiating improvements, and taking ownership without requiring process or oversight
- • Ensure all deployed AI Employees perform reliably under real-world conditions, meeting client requirements with consistent, resilient behavior
- • Run meetings effectively, write crisp updates, and ask probing questions early to surface risks and align stakeholders before issues escalate
- • Work with a personal computer and reliable high-speed internet, and be available to collaborate within Americas time zones
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer, automation engineer, or systems builder shipping production systems
- • Hands-on experience deploying voice agents using platforms such as ElevenLabs, Retell, or Nextiva, including telephony and streaming audio integration
- • Proven track record of building and shipping agentic AI systems with LLM orchestration, RAG, function calling, and multi-turn conversation state management
- • Experience writing comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) as a core part of the shipping process
- • Ability to own delivery outcomes end-to-end, including timelines, reliability, and client success, not just code writing
- • Deep understanding of real-time constraints in production: latency budgets, streaming audio, API failures, and graceful fallback mechanisms
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote work with global flexibility
- • Contract or EOR FTE compensation structure
- • Hourly rate of $35–50/hr
- • Opportunity to shape engineering best practices for a growing AI platform
- • High-impact role building production AI Employees used by SMBs
- • Autonomy to drive technical decisions and ownership without heavy process
