📋 Description

• Direct, edit, and finish 1–2 vertical (9:16) short drama series at a time, each consisting of 10–15 episodes (~1 minute per episode) plus a trailer.
• Own the end-to-end creative production of each series, including scriptwriting, character development, pacing, hooks, and minute-to-minute narrative escalation.
• Collaborate with EverAI’s in-house AI copilot to ensure character consistency, casting alignment, and trailer generation across episodes.
• Leverage AI generation tools such as Runway Gen-4, Sora 2, Kling 3, Veo 3, Pika, Higgsfield, and Seedance to produce visual content, with training provided to master the proprietary AI stack.
• Work closely with the team of AI Content Creators, tech team, and other Short Film Directors to align creative vision and technical execution.
• Deliver polished, platform-optimized episodes that meet EverAI’s standards for storytelling, pacing, and emotional impact on AI companionship platforms.
• Iterate rapidly based on feedback from the executive team and user engagement metrics, maintaining obsessive attention to speed, performance, and quality.
• Maintain full creative ownership of each episode while remaining open to feedback and willing to adapt storytelling approaches based on AI capabilities and user data.
• Ensure all content adheres to EverGuard, EverAI’s proprietary AI moderation system, to uphold ethical, safe, and human-first standards.
• Adapt narrative structures for vertical video formats optimized for mobile consumption and AI-driven user interaction.
• Contribute to the evolution of the AI companionship genre by pioneering new storytelling techniques unique to AI-generated short-form drama.
• Participate in weekly creative syncs and quarterly planning sessions with the global remote team to align on series direction and production pipelines.
• Maintain a doer mindset: balance strategic planning with rapid execution in a fast-moving, high-velocity environment.
• Demonstrate humility and curiosity by actively learning AI content creation workflows, even if coming from a traditional film or TV background.
• Communicate clearly and collaboratively in English with cross-functional teams across time zones.
• Commit to long-term partnership with EverAI, contributing to multiple series over time rather than one-off projects.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years directing or showrunning short-form narrative video
• Strong scripting instincts: hooks, cliffhangers, minute-to-minute escalation
• Experience with AI generation tools such as Runway Gen-4, Sora 2, Kling 3, Veo 3, Pika, Higgsfield, and Seedance
• Experience with vertical drama platforms
• Fluent in English
• Goal-oriented with strong ownership and commitment
