- • Direct, edit, and finish 1–2 vertical (9:16) short drama series at a time, each consisting of 10–15 episodes (~1 minute per episode) plus a trailer.
- • Own the end-to-end production process including scriptwriting, character development, pacing, hooks, and cliffhangers tailored for short-form narrative platforms.
- • Work directly with EverAI’s in-house AI copilot to ensure character consistency, casting alignment, and trailer generation across episodes.
- • Leverage AI generation tools such as Runway Gen-4, Sora 2, Kling 3, Veo 3, Pika, Higgsfield, and Seedance to produce content, with training provided to master the proprietary AI stack.
- • Collaborate with AI Content Creators, the tech team, other Short Film Directors, and executive leadership to align creative vision with technical capabilities.
- • Maintain strict adherence to EverGuard, EverAI’s proprietary AI moderation system, ensuring all content is safe, ethical, and human-first.
- • Iterate rapidly on episode drafts, incorporating feedback from internal teams to optimize storytelling, engagement, and platform performance.
- • Balance creative execution with operational speed, delivering high-quality episodes on tight production cycles without compromising narrative integrity.
- • Bring proven expertise in vertical drama storytelling, with deep understanding of audience retention patterns and platform-specific pacing.
- • Adapt scripting and editing techniques to suit AI-generated visuals and audio, ensuring seamless integration between human creativity and machine-assisted production.
- • Maintain a doer mindset: prioritize execution, planning, and strategic iteration in a fast-moving, fully remote environment.
- • Demonstrate humility and openness to feedback, continuously learning and refining skills in AI-assisted content creation.
- • Contribute to a culture of radical creativity, ownership, and velocity within a global team of top-tier talent from Tier 1 tech companies.
- • Utilize provided AI tools including ChatGPT, Cursor, Hugging Face, and Claude Code to enhance workflow efficiency and creative output.
- • Participate in the annual in-person team gathering to foster collaboration, brainstorming, and team cohesion.
- • Maintain professional growth through access to the learning budget for courses, books, conferences, or certifications related to AI storytelling and vertical video production.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years directing or showrunning short-form narrative video
- • Strong scripting instincts: hooks, cliffhangers, minute-to-minute escalation
- • Experience with AI generation tools such as Runway Gen-4, Sora 2, Kling 3, Veo 3, Pika, Higgsfield, and Seedance
- • Experience with vertical drama platforms
- • Fluent in English with strong communication and collaborative skills
- • Goal-oriented mindset with ownership, commitment, and obsessive focus on speed and iteration
