📋 Description
- • Serve as the primary administrator for 1Password’s sales compensation plans, ensuring accurate and timely calculation of commissions, bonuses, and one-time incentive payments for the global sales team.
- • Collaborate with the Commission Manager to execute the annual compensation setting process, including quota resets, plan configuration, and alignment with sales strategy.
- • Maintain and audit the commission plan database in CaptivateIQ (CIQ), ensuring data integrity and serving as the primary point of contact for all technical and operational inquiries related to CIQ.
- • Distribute, track, and confirm signed-off compensation plans from sales employees to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- • Prepare monthly accruals and reconciliations for commission accounting, partnering with payroll to ensure accurate and on-time commission payouts.
- • Document all approval workflows, adjustment justifications, and supporting materials for any changes to compensation, ensuring transparency and audit readiness.
- • Partner with Revenue Operations and HR Operations to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements that enhance accuracy, speed, and scalability of the commissions workflow.
- • Research and resolve commission disputes and discrepancies by analyzing sales data, plan structures, and historical payouts to provide clear, data-backed recommendations.
- • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of commission calculation procedures, policies, and controls to ensure consistency across teams and over time.
- • Utilize Excel to analyze large, complex datasets using formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other advanced functions to validate commission accuracy and identify anomalies.
- • Leverage BI tools such as Looker or Tableau to generate reports, visualize commission trends, and support financial forecasting and planning.
- • Stay current with evolving sales incentive structures, including bookings-based and revenue-based plans, quotas, accelerators, and tiered payout models.
- • Work under ambiguity and adapt quickly to frequent changes in sales strategy, product pricing, or organizational structure while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
- • Support finance team initiatives by integrating AI-driven tools to automate repetitive tasks, improve decision-making, and enhance the quality of financial narratives without compromising control or confidentiality.
- • Ensure all commission-related activities align with internal controls and financial reporting standards, with a strong emphasis on data accuracy, confidentiality, and audit readiness.
- • Act as a trusted advisor to sales leadership by clearly explaining commission concepts, terminology, and calculations in both written and verbal formats.
- • Contribute to the development and refinement of commission policies and procedures to reflect evolving business needs and regulatory expectations.
- • Participate in cross-functional projects to align sales compensation with broader organizational goals, including GTM strategy, product launches, and regional expansion.
- • Maintain awareness of regional compensation practices in the U.S. and Canada to ensure compliance with local labor and tax regulations.
- • Embrace a remote-first work model while being prepared to travel for annual department-wide offsites, team meetings, and customer or industry events as required.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in sales compensation within a SaaS company
- • Proven expertise in calculating and administering sales incentive plans, including quotas, accelerators, and revenue/booking-based structures
- • Advanced proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau
- • Experience using CaptivateIQ (CIQ), Salesforce, and/or Looker is preferred
- • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, high-accuracy data processes
- • Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or related field
