You will be instrumental in ensuring robust role-based workflow and data security, safeguarding sensitive company information and enabling efficient business operations.
- • As a subject matter expert, you will lead and mentor team members on intricate projects, driving best practices in Workday security design and implementation. Your responsibilities will encompass the end-to-end security support of the Workday platform, including the definition and maintenance of security groups, domains, and business process security policies. This requires a deep understanding of how security configurations impact user access and data integrity across various modules.
- • You will play a critical role in Workday-related projects, including system releases, upgrades, and significant configuration redesigns. This involves meticulous analysis of existing security policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending enhancements to optimize security posture and compliance. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining the integrity and security of The New York Times' critical HR and Finance systems.
- • A key aspect of this role is supporting systems authentication, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines, and managing change control processes effectively. You will be responsible for recommending Workday security design improvements, configuration enhancements, workflow optimizations, and best practices for security administration. This proactive approach ensures the system remains secure and aligned with evolving business needs and industry standards.
- • Documentation is paramount in this role. You will be tasked with meticulously documenting all solutions to facilitate long-term operational support and knowledge transfer. This includes developing the capabilities of the production support team for the gold tenant, ensuring they have the necessary expertise to manage and maintain security configurations effectively. Your documentation will serve as a critical resource for the team and future projects.
- • You will act as a primary point of contact for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across various business units, understanding their unique security needs and ensuring that best practices are communicated and implemented consistently. Providing an exceptional level of customer service and support to all business units and internal/external contacts is essential, with a commitment to responding promptly to feedback and resolving issues efficiently.
- • This role requires a strong commitment to The New York Times' mission of seeking the truth and helping people understand the world, demonstrating support for journalistic independence through your work. You will report directly to the IT Workday Security Manager, collaborating closely to achieve team and organizational objectives.
- • The Senior Analyst will be expected to analyze and audit security policies and procedures, identifying potential vulnerabilities or inefficiencies and proposing solutions. This includes staying abreast of new Workday security features and functionalities and evaluating their applicability to The New York Times' environment.
- • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of Workday security by staying informed about industry trends, emerging threats, and regulatory changes. This knowledge will be leveraged to proactively adapt security strategies and configurations, ensuring the platform remains resilient and compliant.
- • The role involves working with sensitive data, requiring a high degree of discretion, integrity, and adherence to data privacy policies. You will be a guardian of system security, ensuring that access controls are robust and that data is protected against unauthorized access or disclosure.
- • Collaboration is key; you will work cross-functionally with IT teams, HR business partners, Finance stakeholders, and potentially external vendors to ensure seamless integration and security across all Workday-related initiatives.
- • This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the security landscape of a globally recognized media organization, contributing to its mission through robust and innovative security solutions within its core HR and Finance systems.
- • You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of security configurations, from initial design and requirement gathering through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance and support.
- • The ability to troubleshoot complex security issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions will be crucial for success in this role.
- • You will contribute to the development and execution of security testing strategies, including user acceptance testing (UAT) for security-related changes, ensuring that configurations meet business requirements and security standards.
- • This role is ideal for an experienced Workday security professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about leveraging technology to enhance security and operational efficiency.
- • You will be a key player in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data within the Workday system, supporting The New York Times' commitment to operational excellence and data protection.
- • The position requires a proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate potential security risks and develop mitigation strategies before they impact the business.
- • You will be expected to contribute to the overall IT security strategy, ensuring that Workday security aligns with broader organizational security objectives and policies.
- • This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and development within a leading media company, with exposure to cutting-edge HR technology and security practices.
