- • Serve as the Analytics Engineering lead within Reddit’s Sales and Marketing domain, building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers business decisions across thousands of colleagues.
- • Architect, develop, and improve ETL pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and transformation, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance in production environments.
- • Act as the primary data steward for Sales and Marketing, designing data models, aggregations, and reporting dashboards to support advertiser outreach, campaign tracking, and acquisition strategies.
- • Develop and deploy user-friendly analytical tools and applications for internal teams, prioritizing automation, consistency, and self-service capabilities to enable data-driven decision-making.
- • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders in Sales and Marketing to align data initiatives with business objectives and technical constraints.
- • Lead transformational efforts to establish a sustainable, scalable data foundation that supports Reddit’s long-term growth and data culture.
- • Provide technical mentorship, coaching, and training to junior Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers to elevate team capabilities and promote best practices.
- • Partner with leadership and engineering managers to shape the strategic roadmap for data foundations, communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- • Design and maintain data workflows using tools such as Airflow, ensuring end-to-end automation and monitoring of critical data pipelines.
- • Implement robust data governance practices for structured and unstructured datasets at massive scale, ensuring quality, lineage, and compliance.
- • Create and optimize data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Looker, Tableau, Streamlit, D3, or R visualization packages to communicate insights effectively.
- • Apply deep expertise in relational and MPP database architectures to design efficient data storage and querying solutions.
- • Drive adoption of standardized data tools and practices across the organization, reducing redundancy and increasing analytical efficiency.
- • Work autonomously and as part of a distributed team, managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of code quality and system reliability.
🎯 Requirements
- • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, operations research, computer science, applied mathematics, economics, or physics
- • 5+ years of industry experience with large-scale ETL systems (for M.S. holders) or 4+ years (for Ph.D. holders), including implementation, strategy, and maintenance in production environments
- • Strong programming proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and/or Scala
- • Experience working in Sales and Marketing domains
- • Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT patterns, and data governance for massive-scale structured and unstructured data
- • Experience with data workflow tools (e.g., Airflow), data visualization platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau), and front-end or back-end engineering
