- • As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Amplify Education, you will play a critical role in transforming raw educational data into actionable insights that empower school administrators, teachers, and district leaders to make informed decisions that improve student outcomes across the United States.
- • Your work will directly support Amplify’s mission to provide rigorous, engaging, and equitable K–12 education by building reliable, secure, and scalable data models that fuel reporting and analytics for over 15 million students nationwide.
- • Day to day, you will architect and maintain robust data warehouse schemas using Snowflake, design and implement ELT pipelines with dbt and Airflow, and write efficient, reusable SQL queries involving CTEs, window functions, and pivots to support analytical reporting.
- • You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to develop and validate metrics that measure student progress, teacher effectiveness, and program efficacy, ensuring data integrity, privacy compliance, and security best practices.
- • You will lead and mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pull request feedback, and CI/CD process improvements, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing across cross-functional teams.
- • You will participate in agile rituals, brownbag sessions, and workshop series to stay current with emerging data engineering practices while deepening your expertise in Amplify’s internal data standards and modeling conventions.
- • You will contribute to innovative projects such as building slowly changing dimensional models that accommodate student mobility and school year transitions, and crafting novel datasets that capture adaptive learning trajectories for granular performance analysis.
- • You will improve pipeline reliability and test coverage by implementing automated testing frameworks, monitoring data quality, and optimizing deployment processes for scalability and resilience.

- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern data stack technologies (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Cube.dev) while gaining domain-specific knowledge in educational data modeling, FERPA compliance, and K–12 accountability systems.

🎯 Requirements
- • BS in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, data engineering, or analytics engineering.
- • Expertise in SQL and experience with code-based ETL/ELT frameworks, particularly dbt, including writing efficient, reusable models with a focus on performance and maintainability.
- • Proven experience designing and implementing analytical data models using architectures such as Kimball, including slowly changing dimensions, fact tables, and conformed dimensions.
- • Hands-on expertise with Snowflake for data warehousing, Airflow for workflow orchestration, and Git for version control in collaborative engineering environments.
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to create clear engineering documentation and mentor technical and non-technical stakeholders.
