- • As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Deliveroo, you will play a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization by building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and well-documented data pipelines that power insights for both data scientists and business stakeholders. Your work will directly impact how Deliveroo understands customer behavior, optimizes operations, and scales its marketplace, making you a critical enabler of the company’s mission to transform food delivery through technology.
- • You will collaborate closely with product engineering, data science, and analytics teams to ensure that raw source data is transformed into clean, denormalized, and aggregated datasets that meet downstream analytical needs, using Snowflake as the primary data warehouse and Looker as the BI layer for visualization and exploration by approximately 1,500 active business users.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining SQL-based data transformation scripts using ELT/ETL patterns, implementing and managing DAGs (e.g., via Airflow or similar orchestration tools) to ensure dependency-aware pipeline execution, and optimizing query performance and data model efficiency for scalability and cost-effectiveness.
- • You will actively partner with data scientists to understand their modeling requirements, advise on best practices for data structure and granularity, and review their work to ensure alignment with enterprise data standards, thereby bridging the gap between engineering and analytics.
- • You will champion the adoption and evolution of Looker as a self-service data product, improving dashboard usability, creating reusable LookML models, conducting training sessions, and gathering feedback to enhance the user experience for non-technical stakeholders across marketing, operations, finance, and product teams.
- • You will contribute to data governance initiatives by ensuring data quality, documentation, and lineage are maintained through version-controlled code (using Git), automated testing, and metadata tagging, fostering trust in data across the organization.
- • You will work in a hybrid environment at Deliveroo’s Hyderabad Main Office, collaborating with a global, high-performing Analytics Engineering team that values innovation, technical excellence, and inclusive culture, where your contributions will be recognized and your growth accelerated through exposure to complex, large-scale data challenges.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in modern data stack technologies (Snowflake, Looker, SQL, Python, orchestration tools), gain end-to-end ownership of data products from ingestion to insight, and develop leadership skills by mentoring junior engineers and influencing cross-functional data strategy—positioning you for advancement into senior technical or managerial roles within Deliveroo’s expanding data organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of professional experience in Analytics Engineering, BI Engineering, or Data Engineering
- • Excellent SQL skills with advanced proficiency in writing complex queries, CTEs, window functions, and performance-tuned scripts
- • Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, and star/snowflake schema design
- • Hands-on experience with cloud-based MPP data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
- • Experience developing and maintaining data transformation pipelines using ELT/ETL methodologies and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, or similar)
- • Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
