Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Design, build, and maintain production-ready dbt models that represent core business entities including customers, revenue, marketing performance, and operational metrics, ensuring they serve as the authoritative source of truth for the organization.
  • • Implement and document company-wide metrics using Omni as the semantic layer, translating stakeholder needs into clear, consistent, and self-serveable definitions that enable non-technical teams to make data-driven decisions with confidence.
  • • Partner closely with Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to deliver cross-functional analytics projects—from scoping and prioritization to execution and delivery—while managing your own workflow and timelines independently.
  • • Establish and enforce data quality standards through dbt tests, CI/CD pipelines, and comprehensive documentation to proactively detect and prevent data regressions, reducing ambiguity and increasing trust in reported metrics.
  • • Take end-to-end ownership of at least one core business area (e.g., Marketing or Revenue analytics), improving structure, consistency, and clarity of models and metrics over time to align with evolving business needs.
  • • Collaborate upstream with Data Engineering to diagnose and resolve data quality issues, influence source system design, and optimize warehouse performance to ensure reliability and scalability of the analytics infrastructure.
  • • Make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, accuracy, and long-term maintainability when developing models and metrics, balancing immediate business needs with sustainable, scalable patterns as the company grows.
  • • Serve as the primary point of contact for analytics-related questions across departments, building trusted relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and domain expertise.
  • • Continuously refine dbt project structure, including the use of incremental models, custom macros, and modular logic, to improve code reuse, reduce runtime, and enhance maintainability in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • • Translate ambiguous or high-level business questions into precise, measurable analytical requirements, ensuring alignment between data outputs and strategic objectives across the organization.
  • • Contribute to the evolution of the analytics stack by identifying gaps, proposing improvements, and adopting best practices in modeling, documentation, and governance to support tem’s mission of transparent, AI-driven energy markets.
  • • Work autonomously in a remote, distributed team with minimal process, adapting quickly to changing priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.
  • • Engage in daily collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their data needs and embed analytics into their workflows, ensuring data is not just available but actionable.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Strong hands-on experience as an Analytics Engineer in a fast-moving environment.
  • • Deep, practical dbt experience, including incremental models, custom macros, debugging and optimising slow or expensive models, and project structure and maintainability.
  • • Excellent SQL and solid data modelling fundamentals.
  • • Experience with a semantic layer or BI modelling tool (Omni, Looker, or similar).
  • • Experience translating business questions into metric definitions with stakeholders.
  • • Comfortable working with ambiguity and limited process.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary of ÂŁ85,000 - ÂŁ95,000 or equivalent in local currency, reviewed twice yearly using real-time market data.
  • • Stock options for all team members, providing ownership in the company’s mission.
  • • 25 days holiday plus public holidays, with the ability to swap public holidays for ones that matter most, plus an extra day off for your birthday.
  • • Fully remote working with clear core hours and no internal meetings on Friday afternoons.
  • • Up to ÂŁ1,200 / €1,200 annually for remote setup upgrades (equipment, co-working passes, etc.).
  • • Up to ÂŁ150 / €150 monthly wellbeing budget for therapy, gym memberships, meditation apps, or other personal wellness initiatives.
