- • The Senior Associate – Ambulatory Operations - Healthcare role at BRG Communications LLC is a pivotal consulting position focused on driving measurable improvements in physician practice operations, revenue cycle performance, and clinical workflow efficiency for healthcare clients across the U.S. This role directly supports BRG’s Integrated Health Solutions practice in delivering strategic, data-driven transformations that enhance financial sustainability and patient care quality in ambulatory settings.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting small to medium-sized client engagements and discrete segments of larger projects; managing upward communication by providing daily updates to team leadership; identifying and flagging operational risks while proposing actionable solutions; ensuring quality assurance and reviewing work products for accuracy and completeness; developing financial models, analyses, and dashboards using transactional, operational, and financial data from healthcare systems; analyzing operational and financial metrics to derive strategic recommendations for process improvement; generating client-ready deliverables such as presentations, reports, and implementation plans; supporting client relationships by communicating results and work products appropriately; demonstrating creativity and proficiency in software tools like MS Excel, SAS, SQL Server, and analytical methods to build models and visualizations; prioritizing tasks to meet project goals and deadlines; contributing to project management through creation and maintenance of project plans, timelines, and status updates; and participating in group practice meetings, business development initiatives, and internal office functions such as staff training and recruiting.
- • The Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) practice at BRG is led by seasoned healthcare executives, operators, and clinicians who partner with providers, payers, investors, and stakeholders to navigate complex strategic, operational, financial, and clinical challenges. IHS focuses on four core service offerings: Business Transformation Advisory, Margin & Operational Improvement, Clinical & Quality Transformation, and AI & Digital Solutions. This role sits squarely within the Margin & Operational Improvement pillar, specifically supporting ambulatory operations and physician enterprise initiatives that drive revenue growth, cost containment, and sustainable margin improvement through workforce productivity, supply chain optimization, revenue cycle effectiveness, and managed care strategies.
- • In this role, the Senior Associate will develop deep expertise in healthcare operations consulting, particularly in physician practice management and financial performance improvement. They will gain hands-on experience building financial models, analyzing complex healthcare datasets, and translating insights into executable strategies. The position offers significant professional growth through on-the-job training, frequent feedback, exposure to diverse client engagements, and opportunities to contribute to business development and internal initiatives—preparing them for advancement into senior consulting or management roles within BRG’s healthcare practice.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s or advanced degree (BS, BBA, MBA, M.A., M.S., etc.) in business analytics, accounting, finance, economics, information systems, or equivalent healthcare experience
- • 3+ years of work experience focused on physician practice operations and management
- • Proven capability with MS Excel and relational database programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, MS SQL Server, MS Access), with a desire to expand technical skills and train others
- • Demonstrated experience in driving financial improvements to the operational performance of medical groups
- • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to manage processes and collaborate effectively within a team environment
- • Commitment to high-quality analysis, attention to detail, and willingness to travel up to 50% based on project needs
