- • The Senior Associate, Technology Operations role at The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is critical to ensuring the stability, efficiency, and reliability of the production environment that supports global equity derivatives clearing and settlement services. This position serves as a technical liaison across teams to maintain operational readiness, document issues, and uphold best practices in a highly regulated financial market utility.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring production systems across Mainframe, Linux/UNIX, Windows, Storage, and Network platforms; identifying and resolving first-level incidents; maintaining processing logs and records; escalating issues to second-level support; supporting SFTP/NDM transmissions and MQ channels; troubleshooting scheduling jobs; assisting with mainframe IPLs and system commands; providing first-level support for production installs, disaster recovery, and industry tests; maintaining off-site storage records; rerunning failed backups; analyzing production performance, capacity, and critical-path processing for continuous improvement; standing up SWAT teams to resolve ongoing issues; diagnosing complex problems; advocating for ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change); and ensuring adherence to security, regulatory, and operational best practices. The role requires working the 3rd shift (10:30 PM to 7:00 AM Central, Tuesday through Saturday) and being available for scheduled overtime to ensure 24x7 coverage.
- • OCC is the world’s largest equity derivatives clearing organization, founded in 1973, dedicated to promoting market stability and integrity. As a Systemically Important Financial Market Utility (SIFMU), it operates under the oversight of the SEC, CFTC, and Federal Reserve, serving over 100 clearing members and 19 exchanges. The Technology Operations team collaborates closely with Production Control, Production Support, Release Management, Platform Services, Storage, Cloud, Linux/Unix, Networking, Business Operations, and Change/Problem/Incident Management teams to ensure seamless production operations.
- • In this role, the individual will develop deep expertise in enterprise technology operations within a regulated financial environment, strengthen incident and problem management skills, gain hands-on experience with cloud (AWS), scheduling tools (Control-M/UC4), mainframe systems, and cross-platform troubleshooting. They will learn to shift operations from reactive to proactive, influence operational best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system reliability and business continuity.
