- • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using microservices architecture to support AI data platform operations
- • Build and operate production workloads on Kubernetes, including deployments, services, ingress, autoscaling, and Helm chart management
- • Work extensively with Elasticsearch for indexing, querying, aggregations, performance tuning, and cluster management across large-scale datasets
- • Apply distributed systems principles to design fault-tolerant, highly available, and scalable systems handling video, audio, text, and business workflow data
- • Optimize application performance and reliability in containerized and distributed environments with emphasis on latency, throughput, and resilience
- • Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines using GitOps and Kubernetes-native deployment practices
- • Troubleshoot complex production issues spanning Kubernetes clusters, Elasticsearch clusters, and interconnected microservices
- • Improve system observability by implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for distributed environments
- • Participate in architectural decisions and mentor junior engineers on distributed systems, Kubernetes best practices, and backend design patterns
- • Collaborate with platform teams to evolve internal tooling, developer experience, and infrastructure automation
- • Maintain and enhance inter-service communication patterns within a microservices ecosystem
- • Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases to support data persistence and retrieval needs for AI training and evaluation workflows
- • Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform to manage cloud resources and automate provisioning
- • Contribute to the evolution of a high-impact AI data platform used by AI labs and model builders for training, fine-tuning, and agentic use cases
- • Operate in a remote-first environment with occasional team offsites and a strong focus on ownership, transparency, and impact
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend focus
- • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (minimum 3+ years running production workloads)
- • Solid experience working with Elasticsearch (indexing strategies, query optimization, cluster scaling, etc.)
- • Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts (consistency models, partitioning, replication, consensus, failure handling, CAP theorem, etc.)
- • Proficiency in at least one backend language: Go, Python, Java, or TypeScript
- • Experience with Docker and container orchestration
- • Experience with cloud-managed Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or AKS)
- • Good understanding of microservices architecture and inter-service communication patterns
- • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform preferred)
