Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the full life-cycle of mission-critical product features—from initial technical design through production deployment—while proactively surfacing risks and aligning with Product Owners, QA, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure flawless delivery.
- • Act as the technical conscience of the squad: continuously scan the codebase for architectural debt, quantify its impact on velocity and reliability, and champion concrete refactoring strategies that raise code health without derailing roadmap commitments.
- • Translate the squad’s Definition of Done into daily engineering practices, mentoring peers on writing clean, testable, and performant code that meets or exceeds internal benchmarks for unit coverage, integration stability, and latency budgets.
- • Design and evolve RESTful APIs that power Appspace’s employee-experience platform, ensuring backward compatibility, graceful degradation, and security best practices while handling millions of requests per day across global regions.
- • Model data for high-scale relational workloads, optimizing queries and schema design for both OLTP and analytical use cases, and collaborate with DevOps to tune infrastructure for sub-second response times.
- • Research emerging technologies—cloud-native patterns, serverless, event streaming, polyglot persistence—and run proof-of-concepts that translate into concrete proposals for improving scalability, developer productivity, or customer delight.
- • Produce crystal-clear technical specifications and architectural decision records that enable distributed teams to understand trade-offs, replicate environments, and onboard new engineers in days, not weeks.
- • Embed quality at the source by writing comprehensive unit, integration, API, and performance tests that run in CI/CD pipelines, ensuring every commit is production-ready and every release is boring (in the best way).
- • Foster a culture of psychological safety and continuous learning by leading blameless post-mortems, brown-bag sessions, and pair-programming rotations that level-up the entire back-end chapter.
- • Collaborate with front-end, mobile, and UX teams to define contracts, mock services, and end-to-end workflows that deliver seamless experiences whether employees are booking a desk in Singapore or streaming corporate TV in São Paulo.
- • Contribute to the evolution of Appspace’s engineering standards—coding guidelines, branching strategy, code-review etiquette—ensuring consistency across microservices written in .NET, Node, and future stacks.
- • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through structured feedback, career-path guidance, and knowledge-sharing sessions, turning individual growth into collective velocity.
- • Participate in on-call rotations with a “you build it, you run it” mindset, using observability tools to detect, triage, and resolve incidents before customers notice.
- • Champion security-first development: threat-model new features, enforce OWASP best practices, and partner with InfoSec to maintain SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance.
- • Influence product strategy by translating technical insights into user stories, helping Product Owners prioritize investments that unlock new markets or reduce operational cost.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years designing, developing, and shipping enterprise-grade applications in an object-oriented language, with demonstrable ownership of at least one high-scale service.
- • Expert-level proficiency in .NET Framework and ASP.NET, including MVC and Web API, with hands-on experience building RESTful endpoints consumed by web, mobile, and third-party integrations.
- • Production experience with an ORM such as Entity Framework, NHibernate, or Hibernate, including performance tuning, lazy-loading strategies, and migration management.
- • Deep expertise in relational database design, advanced SQL, and query optimization; familiarity with NoSQL or event stores is a strong plus.
- • Solid grasp of SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean architecture; ability to articulate trade-offs and refactor legacy codebases without regressions.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote-first culture with flexible hours, allowing you to work from Barcelona, Bali, or your backyard as long as you have a solid internet connection.
- • Annual learning and development stipend plus paid certifications, conferences, and language classes to keep your skills razor-sharp.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents, plus mental-health days and a quarterly wellness allowance.
- • Generous stock-option plan that turns your impact into ownership and aligns your success with the company’s growth.
