Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect and own the backend brains of Arbiter’s AI-powered care orchestration platform, building the agentic layer that unites patients, providers, and payers in one seamless workflow.
- • Design, develop, and operate ultra-low-latency inference pipelines that power real-time clinical decision support, automating everything from prior-authorization to post-discharge follow-ups.
- • Build and scale service orchestration primitives that let hundreds of autonomous agents coordinate securely across EMRs, payer APIs, and patient messaging channels without ever dropping a critical task.
- • Ship production-grade AI systems that handle millions of multimodal interactions per month while meeting strict HIPAA, SOC-2, and clinical-grade reliability SLAs (<100 ms P99 latency, 99.99 % availability).
- • Contribute to the architectural blueprint of a modular, extensible platform that plugs cleanly into Epic, Cerner, and emerging FHIR endpoints, ensuring Arbiter can evolve with regulatory and customer demands.
- • Implement bullet-proof CI/CD, observability, and blue-green deployment pipelines so every model update, prompt tweak, or service refactor reaches production safely and at startup speed.
- • Partner shoulder-to-shoulder with data scientists to productionize cutting-edge LLM agents, including prompt evaluation, fine-tuning, and human-in-the-loop guardrails that clinicians trust.
- • Collaborate with product managers and clinical experts to translate fuzzy, high-impact healthcare problems into crisp technical specs, then shepherd them from whiteboard sketch to national-scale rollout.
- • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the engineering org, raising code quality, system design, and operational excellence through design reviews, brown-bags, and pair programming.
- • Own your services end-to-end, including pager-duty rotation and incident command, turning every production fire into a post-mortem that makes the system—and the team—stronger.
- • Champion continuous learning by experimenting with the latest agentic frameworks, contributing to internal R&D spikes, and sharing findings that shape Arbiter’s technical roadmap.
- • Influence engineering culture by embodying “collaboration over ego,” shipping early and often, and celebrating craftsmanship that turns complex healthcare chaos into elegant, life-saving software.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years building and operating production backend systems, including recent hands-on experience with AI-powered services and automation workflows in high-availability environments
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- • Proven track record designing and maintaining large-scale Python codebases with strong opinions on structure, quality, and trade-offs
- • Deep expertise in concurrency, distributed systems, and event-driven or async architectures; experience with REST/gRPC API design and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- • Demonstrated success shipping AI systems beyond prototypes—production-grade LLM integrations, prompt engineering, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop patterns
🏖️ Benefits
- • Highly competitive salary ($180k–$240k) plus meaningful equity designed to rival top FAANG packages
- • Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance for you and your family, plus life and disability coverage
- • Generous PTO policy and Simple IRA matching to support long-term financial wellness
- • Annual professional development budget for conferences, courses, and certifications, plus wellness programs for physical and mental health
