Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As a Senior Backend Developer at i3D.net, you will own the design and implementation of critical data flows that power billing, product, and sales systems, directly impacting revenue accuracy and operational efficiency for global clients like Ubisoft and Discord.
- • You will build scalable Go-based backend services and APIs that ensure reliable, auditable data exchange between ERP, CRM, payment, and inventory platforms, eliminating manual reconciliation and enabling seamless migrations at scale.
- • i3D.net operates one of the world’s most interconnected networks, delivering low-latency, zero-packet-loss infrastructure to gaming and tech leaders, where your work will contribute to systems that support millions of users worldwide.
- • You will join a collaborative engineering culture that follows a 'you build it, you deploy it, you support it' philosophy, working closely with Finance, Product, and Business Analysts to refine business rules and validate outputs.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include owning data migrations and pipelines by designing ETL flows with full validation and rollback capability for billing, contract, and asset data.
- • You will model and transform complex data structures by analyzing legacy databases, defining transformation logic, and ensuring consistent, idempotent data handling across systems.
- • Building scalable backend services in Go is central to the role, where you’ll develop services and abstraction layers that expose billing logic and enforce business rules, using SQL and Python for data transformations.
- • You will standardize product and pricing models by defining reusable structures that work consistently across systems and integrations, reducing ambiguity and errors.
- • Integrating external systems into billing flows involves connecting ERP, CRM, payment, and inventory platforms with secure, reliable data exchange and automated reconciliation.
- • Developing robust APIs and integrations means building REST and gRPC APIs with strong validation, logging, retry logic, and monitoring to ensure production stability.
- • You will automate migrations and operational processes by creating tooling, scripts, and runbooks that support repeatable, controlled cutovers and reduce operational toil.
- • Improving observability and incident response includes implementing monitoring, dashboards, and alerting to quickly detect and resolve data or integration issues before they impact customers.
- • Collaboration across teams is essential, as you’ll work closely with Finance, Product, and Business Analysts to align technical solutions with business needs and validate outputs.
- • You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture decisions by sharing knowledge, reviewing code, and helping shape the long-term billing and data integration strategy.
- • In your first year, success looks like delivering reliable migration plans with automated validation and rollback strategies, defining and documenting data mappings and transformation rules for legacy schemas.
- • You will have standardized product, pricing, and billing models implemented consistently across systems and integrations, ensuring uniformity in how offers and contracts are processed.
- • Core billing APIs, services, and integrations will be live, including payment flows and inventory sync, with full validation, logging, and auditability to support compliance and trust.
- • Monitoring, dashboards, and runbooks will be in place, providing clear insight into data quality, system health, migration progress, and incident response.
- • You will write unit, integration, and contract tests to ensure reliability, following TDD practices and contributing to a high-quality CI/CD pipeline.
- • Your ownership mindset will drive end-to-end responsibility from idea to production, including supporting systems in production and improving them based on feedback.
- • You will thrive in a hybrid work environment with flexibility, a work-from-home budget, and access to top-tier tools, while contributing to a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems in Go, .NET, or PHP, with Go as the primary language for new development
- • Strong experience with MySQL, MariaDB, or Postgres, including working with complex schemas and writing efficient SQL queries
- • Proven experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines, idempotent transformation scripts, and automated validation and reconciliation tooling
- • Experience building and integrating REST or gRPC APIs with authentication patterns such as OAuth2 or JWT
- • Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab), and infrastructure-as-code tools like Ansible or Terraform
- • Familiarity with observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, logging, and tracing systems
- • Demonstrated ability to write unit, integration, and contract tests to ensure system reliability and quality
- • Ownership mindset with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- • Eligibility to work in the EU (valid work permit) and willingness to work hybrid from the Rotterdam office, with relocation support available
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary with shift bonuses, annual bonus, and travel allowance
- • 25 vacation days per year (excluding national holidays) plus premium-free pension plan
- • Hybrid work setup with work-from-home budget and access to top-tier development tools
- • Lifetime access to Ubisoft’s game library and use of in-house gym, game, and music rooms in Rotterdam
- • Education reimbursement and career guidance for continuous skill development
- • Relocation support for candidates moving to the Netherlands
