- • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems for multiplayer and MMO games using Rust and C++ in a fast-paced development environment.
- • Implement scalable network programming solutions to handle real-time player interactions, low-latency communication, and concurrent connections across global server infrastructure.
- • Collaborate with game engine teams to integrate backend services with Unreal Engine 5, Unity, or proprietary AAA game engines, ensuring seamless data flow and synchronization.
- • Optimize server-side code for performance, memory efficiency, and stability under heavy load conditions typical of live-service games.
- • Debug and resolve complex distributed system issues including network packet loss, desynchronization, and server-side crashes in production environments.
- • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical planning sessions to ensure robust, maintainable, and secure backend architecture.
- • Work closely with frontend, gameplay, and DevOps teams to define API contracts, data structures, and service boundaries that support evolving game features.
- • Contribute to the development of anti-cheat and security mechanisms to protect game integrity and player data in multiplayer environments.
- • Document technical designs, APIs, and operational procedures to support team knowledge sharing and onboarding.
- • Adapt quickly to changing project requirements and tight deadlines while maintaining code quality and system reliability.
- • Monitor system performance using logging, metrics, and tracing tools to proactively identify bottlenecks and potential failures.
- • Support deployment pipelines and CI/CD workflows to enable frequent, reliable releases of backend services.
- • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on best practices in systems programming, concurrency, and network protocols.
- • Stay current with advancements in Rust and C++ ecosystems, particularly as they relate to game server development and real-time systems.
- • Ensure all backend systems comply with industry standards for data privacy, security, and performance in global multiplayer environments.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional experience in network programming for multiplayer or MMO games
- • Expert proficiency in both C++ and Rust for high-performance backend development
- • Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine 5, Unity, or proprietary AAA game engines
- • Proven track record of building scalable, low-latency server systems for live-service games
- • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, and real-time network protocols
- • Experience debugging distributed systems under high concurrency and global latency conditions
