• • As a Senior Backend Engineer (L50), you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the robust backend systems that power our award-winning banking platform, impacting millions of customers across the UK.
• • Collaborate within cross-functional squads comprising product managers, designers, mobile and web engineers, data analysts, and more, to deliver exceptional features and services.
• • Contribute to diverse collectives such as Core Banking, Business Banking, Wealth, Borrowing, Growth, Payments, Platform, Fincrime, Security & Expansion, with opportunities to engage with cutting-edge machine learning and AI applications.
• • Take ownership of building and supporting specific areas of Monzo's banking ecosystem, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• • Embrace a product mindset, focusing on customer outcomes and making data-informed decisions to drive product improvements and innovation.
• • Work with a variety of backend technologies, including Go for application code, Cassandra for persistent data storage, Kafka for asynchronous messaging, and Kubernetes/Docker for service orchestration.
• • Leverage cloud infrastructure on AWS for production and GCP for data infrastructure, with exposure to Envoy Proxy for RPC communication.
• • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering practices, including participating in code reviews, advocating for best practices, and sharing knowledge within the team.
• • Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from ideation and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• • Tackle complex technical challenges related to distributed systems, ensuring the resilience and performance of our banking services.
