📋 Description

• Join Pixaera as a Senior Backend Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our innovative platform, which leverages AI and gamification to enhance safety readiness for frontline workers in high-risk industries.
• This is a hands-on, senior-level position where you will be instrumental in designing, building, and scaling the core backend services that power our entire ecosystem.
• You will be responsible for developing robust APIs, implementing secure identity and authorization mechanisms, managing content and training workflows, building efficient telemetry and insights pipelines, and integrating seamlessly with enterprise customer systems.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Frontend, DevOps Platform, and Game Content, to deliver backend capabilities that are not only reliable and secure but also highly scalable to meet the demands of a growing customer base and expanding use cases.
• Take ownership of technical design decisions, drive improvements in code quality and system architecture, and contribute to the evolution of our technology stack as we scale.
• Design and implement backend services using Go (Golang), ensuring they are secure, observable, and resilient. This includes defining and adhering to clear Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs), implementing structured logging, comprehensive metrics, and effective tracing.
• Own the API architecture, encompassing REST and gRPC interfaces, and ensure proper versioning and backward compatibility for both internal and external consumers, applying resource-oriented design patterns.
• Build upon the platform's foundational components, including multi-tenant data modeling and isolation strategies, robust identity, authentication, and authorization systems (RBAC, ABAC), and detailed audit trails.
• Develop and maintain services for the learning and training lifecycle, covering assignment, completion tracking, outcome assessment, and reporting functionalities.
• Architect and implement content and module metadata workflows, ensuring efficient management and retrieval of training materials.
• Engineer event-driven telemetry and insights pipelines to capture, process, and analyze critical data for performance monitoring and user behavior analysis.
• Integrate Pixaera's platform with diverse customer ecosystems, supporting Single Sign-On (SSO) via SAML and OpenID Connect (OIDC), SCIM provisioning, Learning Management System (LMS) and Learning Experience Platform (LXP) integrations, webhooks, and data export capabilities.
• Partner with the Platform Infrastructure team to refine deployment patterns, enhance reliability, and optimize cost and performance through containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and runtime tuning.
• Lead by example by writing high-quality, maintainable code, driving pragmatic architectural decisions, mentoring junior engineers, and continuously strengthening our engineering standards and best practices.
• Within the first 3-6 months, success will be measured by your ability to ship significant backend improvements that enhance the user journey for administrators, managers, and learners.
• You will also be expected to demonstrably improve service quality by enhancing reliability and observability across the platform.
• Taking ownership of one or more key domains, such as identity integrations, telemetry insights, or training workflows, and becoming the recognized subject matter expert.
• Raising the bar for technical documentation, code reviews, and overall engineering practices within the backend team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) with proven experience building and deploying production-grade backend systems.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable, distributed services (microservices or modular monoliths), including expertise in data modeling and API design.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including practical performance tuning techniques (indexes, query optimization, migration strategies).
• Comfort and experience working in cloud-native environments and utilizing modern delivery practices, including containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes or similar), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
• Solid understanding of security fundamentals, including authentication, authorization, least privilege principles, secrets management, and common web vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10), with a focus on meeting enterprise security expectations.
• A collaborative and product-aware mindset, demonstrating a genuine interest in user needs and business outcomes alongside technical excellence.
