- • As a Senior Backend Engineer at ArbiterAI Inc., you will play a critical role in building and deploying the company’s Agentic AI platform that orchestrates patient-facing healthcare workflows across voice, SMS, video, and web channels. Your work will directly impact patient outcomes by enabling scalable, intelligent care coordination at a national level, supporting one of the most ambitious health tech initiatives in recent history.
- • You will design, develop, and productionize multi-step, multi-modal agentic workflows tailored to specific customer use cases, owning them end-to-end from requirements gathering through deployment, monitoring, and iteration. This includes translating complex operational needs into robust technical architectures while ensuring compliance, reliability, and high-quality user experiences.
- • A significant portion of your time (60-70%) will be focused on forward-deployed engineering—shipping real-world systems that handle nuanced, real-time interactions across languages and modalities—while the remainder will be dedicated to contributing reusable components, workflow primitives, and infrastructure improvements back to the core platform based on field insights.
- • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Data, Clinical, and Customer Success to align technical execution with business goals, challenge assumptions when needed, and propose innovative solutions that push the boundaries of what agentic AI can achieve in healthcare.
- • Through this role, you will deepen your expertise in AI-powered systems, real-time integrations, and scalable backend architecture while gaining direct exposure to healthcare operations and AI agent orchestration—positioning you at the forefront of applied AI in a mission-driven, high-impact environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of hands-on experience building and operating production software systems, with recent experience in AI-powered services, automation, or workflow systems strongly preferred.
- • Proficiency in Python as the primary backend language, along with experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot.
- • Demonstrated experience with real-time integrations (APIs, webhooks, bidirectional data sync), cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and working across the stack when necessary to solve end-to-end problems.
