• As a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the robust data infrastructure that powers our analytics capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a product that directly impacts how businesses understand and interact with their customers, making a tangible difference in their success.
• Your primary focus will be on building and optimizing scalable data pipelines, ensuring the efficient flow of data from various sources into our data warehouse. You will be instrumental in developing sophisticated data models that enable deep analytics and reporting, providing our product and business teams with the insights they need to make informed decisions.
• Responsibilities will include designing and implementing data warehouse schemas, such as star and snowflake schemas, with a deep understanding of fact and dimension tables, as well as normalization and denormalization techniques. You will work with modern data warehousing platforms like Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse Analytics, ensuring optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
• You will be an expert in ETL/ELT processes, utilizing tools like Apache NiFi, Apache Airflow, Informatica, Talend, or dbt to move and transform data seamlessly from source systems to our data warehouse. This includes developing and managing complex data pipelines, ensuring data quality, integrity, and timeliness.
• Advanced SQL proficiency will be essential for writing complex queries, optimizing database performance, and performing intricate data manipulations. You will also leverage your strong programming skills in Python or Java to build custom data pipelines, develop data processing applications, and handle advanced data transformations that go beyond standard SQL capabilities.
• Data integration will be a key aspect of your role, involving experience with real-time data integration tools such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, AWS Glue, Fivetran, and Stitch. You will be responsible for integrating data from diverse sources, ensuring a unified and comprehensive view of customer interactions.
• Furthermore, you will manage data pipeline workflows using orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Luigi, ensuring reliability, monitoring pipeline health, and implementing robust error handling mechanisms.
• Knowledge of API-based integrations will be crucial, particularly for aggregating data from distributed sources and enabling seamless data exchange between different systems and services. You will contribute to the architecture and development of data APIs that serve internal and external stakeholders.
• This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented engineer who is passionate about data, possesses a strong analytical mindset, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. You will collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
