📋 Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java with Gen AI at Walmart Inc., you will play a critical role in building high-performance, scalable backend systems that power global supplier payment processing for Walmart’s Enterprise Business Services, directly impacting financial operations across 27 countries including the United States, India, China, and Mexico.
• You will lead the design and development of Java-based applications using Spring Boot, Scala, Kafka, SQL and NoSQL databases, while integrating Gen AI and Agentic AI tools into API and backend development workflows, ensuring technical excellence and innovation in a mission-critical supply chain technology platform.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and engineers to translate business requirements into robust, well-architected solutions, while mentoring junior engineers, setting coding standards, and driving adoption of modern developer tools like Windsurf and Cursor.
• You will ensure system reliability through comprehensive testing, debugging, and performance optimization, applying design thinking and user research principles to solve complex technical issues and improve end-to-end user experience for internal and external stakeholders.
• You will contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation within Walmart Global Tech, where your work supports the company’s vision of leveraging technology to improve lives for hundreds of millions of people globally, all while operating from Walmart’s Bangalore home office with flexible work arrangements.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong expertise in Java 14 or above, lambda functions, and modular, testable code development
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, RESTful services, microservices architecture, Kafka, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (Azure/GCP preferred)
