- • As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Conversational AI team at Trellis, you will architect and build intelligent systems that power natural, engaging conversations between users and the platform, playing a critical role in shaping the future of AI-driven customer experiences.
- • You will guide your team in delivering high-quality, well-tested technical solutions, own projects through the full software development lifecycle, lead by example in code quality, and mentor teammates through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
- • Trellis is a profitable, fast-growing Series A startup rewriting the insurance experience, backed by top investors including General Catalyst and Amex Ventures, operating as a remote-first team across the US and Canada with a mission to make insurance shopping effortless.
- • You will have the opportunity to take ownership of complex projects, define technical direction, influence product strategy through experimentation, and grow your expertise in LLM-driven infrastructure and scalable backend systems while contributing to a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years’ experience developing software in a production environment
- • 2+ years’ experience in a senior engineer role
- • Production experience with Node.js and Typescript
- • Proven experience working in backend systems, designing RESTful APIs and codifying business logic on top of data stores
- • Deep expertise in system architecture and design
- • Familiarity with cloud environments, especially the Google Cloud stack
