• • Collaborate within agile pods of approximately 15 engineers, working on a young product with a fresh codebase, offering ample opportunities for decision-making and technical leadership.
• • Take full ownership of the software development lifecycle for your solutions, encompassing architecture design, coding, rigorous quality assurance, infrastructure management, and deployment strategies.
• • Engage daily with product teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and collaborate with sales and customer success teams to ensure product excellence.
• • Embrace a culture of radical candor, curiosity, and proactiveness, where continuous learning and improvement are highly valued.
• • Develop sophisticated RESTful APIs using Python 3.13, with a strong emphasis on frameworks like FastAPI and Flask, and libraries such as SQLAlchemy and Pydantic.
• • Analyze complex requirements, conceptualize innovative solutions, conduct proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and build production-ready, well-tested software that meets stringent quality standards.
• • Provide ongoing support, optimization, and maintenance for existing solutions, ensuring they consistently meet defined Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
• • Actively participate in team collaboration through thorough code reviews, contributing to Request for Comments (RFCs) and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and engaging in all agile ceremonies.
• • Utilize a rich tech stack including Python 3.13 (FastAPI, Flask, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, Celery), data manipulation libraries (NumPy, pandas, Polars), and infrastructure technologies (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis).
• • Drive the adoption and best practices of cloud-native technologies, including containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes, on public cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS services like IAM and S3.
• • Champion a test-driven development (TDD) or behavior-driven development (BDD) approach, taking ownership of software quality in an environment where formal QA roles may not be present.
• • Excel in profiling and performance optimization across all layers of the technology stack, from individual code components to database queries and infrastructure configurations.
• • Demonstrate a high degree of responsibility, a strong work ethic, and an innate curiosity for exploring new ideas and tools to enhance development processes and product capabilities.
• • Communicate effectively, articulating complex technical concepts clearly and concisely within an English-speaking, international team environment.
• • Embrace challenges and proactively solve intricate technical problems, contributing to the continuous evolution of Guidewire's market-leading platform.
