• • This pivotal role sits within the Product/Games team, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of interactive entertainment on a cutting-edge sports betting and gaming platform.
• • As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining the robust backend systems that power a new and ambitious suite of F2P games, ensuring seamless player experiences and operational integrity.
• • Your core responsibility will involve constructing sophisticated APIs and producing high-quality, maintainable code within defined project timelines, contributing directly to Midnite's growth and market position.
• • This is a senior, hands-on position with a strong emphasis on designing and implementing server-authoritative game systems within a regulated, high-trust environment, demanding meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to security and fairness.
• • You will operate as a key member of a new, small, and autonomous games team, collaborating closely with the Lead Game Developer and Head of Product.
• • Together, you will define and refine the end-to-end game mechanics, from initial player input and interaction through to the final outcomes, reward distribution, and comprehensive analytics.
• • This role is at the forefront of creating foundational systems that will underpin all future game development at Midnite, offering significant impact and visibility.

• • You will take complete ownership of the backend architecture and technical direction for Midnite’s new F2P games portfolio.
• • This includes the design and development of critical server-authoritative systems responsible for outcome evaluation (encompassing both Random Number Generation (RNG) and skill-based mechanics), reward systems, game configuration management, and detailed player analytics.
• • A key aspect of the role involves writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, ensuring the highest standards of quality, scalability, and maintainability for the entire codebase.
• • You will be responsible for establishing and enforcing backend engineering standards, particularly crucial within a regulated industry context.
• • Collaborating closely with the Lead Game Developer, you will define clear, robust, and secure client-server systems that facilitate smooth game operation.
• • You will actively partner with the broader games team to shape innovative game mechanics and reward models, striking a delicate balance between player engagement, fun, fairness, integrity, and risk management.
