- • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance REST APIs using Kotlin or Java to power JimdoPay’s integrated payment solution.
- • Implement and maintain integrations with leading payment service providers (PSPs), ensuring seamless transaction processing and compliance.
- • Design and develop event-driven architectures using Kafka or equivalent messaging systems to handle payment events and state changes reliably.
- • Manage and optimize data storage using PostgreSQL, with deep focus on transactional integrity and data consistency in financial workflows.
- • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automate testing processes to ensure robust, production-ready deployments.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end features such as embedded payments, link-to-pay, and smart quoting tools.
- • Apply secure coding principles and application security best practices to protect sensitive financial data and meet industry compliance standards.
- • Leverage AI-assisted development tools like Cursor or Claude Code to accelerate feature delivery and improve code quality.
- • Practice Agentic Coding methodologies by utilizing AI agents to automate and enhance end-to-end feature implementation.
- • Work in a remote-first environment with flexible hours, focusing on outcomes rather than time spent.
- • Participate in Hack Weeks and Deep Work Thursdays to innovate, experiment, and deepen technical expertise.
- • Contribute to a global team of 220+ professionals from 50+ nationalities, operating across 15+ countries.
- • Engage with an employee-led DEI Council and active ERGs to foster an inclusive, equitable, and supportive workplace culture.
- • Maintain and evolve backend services that support over 36 million websites and empower solopreneurs with AI-driven business insights.
- • Ensure all systems are resilient, observable, and maintainable under high transaction volumes and strict regulatory requirements.
- • Use real customer data to inform backend architecture decisions that directly improve user experience and business outcomes.
- • Continuously improve system reliability, latency, and throughput to meet the demands of a rapidly scaling fintech platform.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years in backend software development
- • Strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java
- • Demonstrated expertise in REST API design
- • Deep experience with PostgreSQL and transactional workflows
- • Practical exposure to Stripe or similar payment platforms
- • Experience working with Kafka or equivalent messaging systems
