- • As a Senior Backend Engineer at Taktile Technologies Inc., you will play a pivotal role in building and operating the core backend systems that power real-time automated decision-making for banks and fintechs, directly impacting how financial institutions assess credit, risk, and fraud with speed and accuracy.
- • You will own critical infrastructure end-to-end, choosing to focus either on the data infrastructure powering feature computation or the distributed execution engine running customer workflows, with full authority to make architectural decisions that shape the product and influence technical direction across small, high-impact teams.
- • Day to day, you will build and operate backend services in Python on AWS, including Lambda functions, DynamoDB, Aurora, and event-driven pipelines handling real production traffic, while leveraging agentic AI tools to enhance development efficiency and system intelligence.
- • You will tackle complex backend challenges involving latency, reliability, and scale, ensuring systems perform under real-world financial workloads where milliseconds and data integrity matter.
- • You will lead through ownership: designing, implementing, deploying, monitoring, and responding to incidents for your systems, while improving development tooling, mentoring peers, and raising engineering standards via code reviews and process innovation.
- • You will collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, influencing what gets built next by providing grounded, forward-thinking technical perspectives.
- • You will join a lean, high-caliber engineering team in Berlin (with hybrid flexibility across London and Iasi) where your contributions are visible, your voice is heard, and your growth is accelerated through direct access to founders, mentors, and a global network of advisors and investors.

🎯 Requirements
- • At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading complex projects in a senior capacity (2+ years).
- • Deep expertise in Python and building backend systems on cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
- • Strong system design skills, including the ability to make and defend architectural trade-offs in areas such as data pipelines, event-driven architectures, caching, performance, or serverless systems.
- • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders on a shared vision.
- • Ability to work in a hybrid model from the Berlin HQ, London office, or Iasi hub (relocation assistance not provided).
