- • As a Senior Backend Software Developer, Platform & Services at Hive Technologies Inc., you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the scalable backend infrastructure that powers a high-impact marketing platform used by over 1,500 event promoters across North America. Your work will directly enable the ingestion, processing, and delivery of billions of customer data points and hundreds of millions of communications monthly, ensuring reliability and performance at scale.
- • You will own critical backend services end-to-end — from architectural design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production support — collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to build robust APIs, optimize data pipelines, and integrate with key platforms like Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, and Shopify. Your contributions will enhance system observability, improve incident response, and support Hive’s rapid iteration culture through multiple daily deployments.
- • Hive’s engineering team operates with agility and ownership, leveraging a modern AWS-based stack including Python, Django, MySQL, MongoDB, Clickhouse, Redis, and Elasticsearch to process real-time data from 20+ integrations. You’ll join a remote-first, collaborative group of engineers dedicated to clarity, technical excellence, and delivering measurable customer impact through reliable, high-throughput systems.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and large-scale data processing while shaping reliability practices at a fast-growing SaaS company. You’ll have the opportunity to lead improvements in SLOs, incident management, and performance optimization, positioning yourself as a technical leader in a platform that processes billions of events and drives real-world outcomes for live event marketers.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience building backend services and APIs at scale
- • Strong expertise in AWS (or similar cloud platforms) and infrastructure-as-code practices
- • Demonstrated proficiency in Python/Django, relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Clickhouse), and API design
- • Experience owning production services, including on-call rotations, incident response, and production support
- • Background in high-volume data processing, real-time systems, and optimizing throughput for billions of data points
- • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams
