Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect and own the backbone of Emma Sleep’s global ERP platform, designing and scaling backend services in Go and TypeScript that orchestrate fulfillment, logistics, and inventory for 35+ countries and 25+ European stores. Your code will directly influence how millions of mattresses and sleep products move from factory to bedroom.
- • Build rock-solid, secure REST APIs that integrate with internal WMS, TMS, and CRM systems as well as third-party carriers, payment gateways, and marketplaces. You will define contracts, version endpoints, and guarantee 99.9 % uptime so that every order, return, and exchange is processed flawlessly.
- • Implement event-driven architectures on AWS using SNS, SQS, Lambda, and DynamoDB to decouple services and enable real-time data flows across warehouses, customer service, and finance. You will model events, design idempotent consumers, and tune throughput to handle Black-Friday-level peaks without breaking a sweat.
- • Own the full DevOps lifecycle: write infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and Helm, containerise services with Docker, deploy to Kubernetes (EKS), and roll out blue-green releases via GitHub Actions. You will craft dashboards in Datadog, set SLOs/SLIs, and wake up to alerts long before customers notice an issue.
- • Champion quality by writing unit, integration, and contract tests that run in CI/CD on every pull request. You will enforce coding standards through peer reviews, pair-programming, and automated linters, ensuring the codebase remains clean, performant, and easy to onboard for new engineers.
- • Mentor mid-level and junior developers through architecture reviews, brown-bag sessions, and one-on-one coaching. You will shape the technical roadmap, propose new patterns, and lead guilds that spread best practices across the 60-nationality engineering community.
- • Collaborate daily with product managers, data analysts, and UX designers to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions. You will participate in sprint planning, story estimation, and OKR definition, turning ambitious growth targets into executable epics.
- • Drive continuous improvement by running post-mortems, cost-optimisation exercises, and chaos-engineering drills. You will experiment with new AWS services, evaluate open-source libraries, and present findings that keep Emma at the cutting edge of e-commerce technology.
- • Contribute to hiring and employer-branding initiatives: craft job specs, conduct technical interviews, and speak at meetups to attract top-tier talent. Your voice will help define what it means to be an Emmie and shape the DNA of a company that is reinventing sleep for the world.
