- • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Go (Golang) microservices to power Weave’s all-in-one healthcare platform used by 30,000+ practices.
- • Drive technical architecture decisions and contribute to long-term system health by anticipating scaling needs, performance bottlenecks, and maintenance requirements.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and frontend teams across the U.S. and India to deliver high-impact features that improve patient care and practice efficiency.
- • Participate in system design reviews, propose robust solutions, and contribute to Weave’s overall engineering strategy and technical direction.
- • Own the quality, reliability, and observability of backend systems from development through production, ensuring high availability and performance.
- • Help plan and execute end-to-end projects with strong ownership and outcome-orientation, from initial concept to deployment and monitoring.
- • Mentor peers and junior engineers by sharing knowledge, promoting best practices, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- • Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to production incidents and take responsibility for the stability of critical healthcare systems.
- • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and inter-service communication layers using protocols such as gRPC, protobufs, and NSQ.
- • Work with relational databases and SQL to design efficient data models and queries that support high-throughput healthcare workflows.
- • Improve system reliability through implementation of observability tooling including metrics, alerts, and distributed tracing.
- • Contribute to the decomposition of monolithic systems into modular microservices to enhance scalability and team autonomy.
- • Write code with long-term scalability and technical debt management in mind, balancing immediate delivery with sustainable architecture.
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to align cross-functional teams on system goals and constraints.
- • Operate in a 100% remote environment while collaborating with teams across time zones, primarily in the U.S. and India.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of backend engineering experience with modern programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, Ruby, or C# (Go preferred or willingness to learn)
- • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services
- • Strong understanding of distributed systems and inter-service communication (e.g., protobufs/gRPC, REST, NSQ)
- • Experience working with relational databases and SQL
- • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation with your team and take responsibility for production systems
