📋 Description

• As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Archy Inc., you will play a pivotal role in transforming dental practice management through a cutting-edge SaaS platform, ensuring that dental professionals can focus on patient care without being hindered by outdated or inefficient systems.
• You will take full ownership of major backend features from conception to production, driving reliability, scalability, and performance in a Java Spring Boot environment while mentoring teammates and influencing architectural decisions that impact the entire product.
• Day to day, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of significant product updates, managing the full release lifecycle to ensure high-impact features are deployed with stability and peak performance in production environments.
• You will proactively integrate AI tools like Claude into your development workflow to accelerate boilerplate code and routine tasks, while maintaining full architectural ownership and ensuring code quality, security, and long-term maintainability.
• You will collaborate closely with product and frontend teams to seamlessly connect the Java Spring Boot backend with React/TypeScript interfaces, enabling cohesive user experiences that simplify complex dental workflows.
• You will actively participate in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback to elevate team standards, promote best practices, and foster a culture of continuous technical improvement.
• You will identify and implement process improvements to boost team efficiency, including refining estimation practices, streamlining workflows, and advocating for better tooling or automation where beneficial.
• You will contribute to project planning by accurately estimating development efforts and coordinating timelines to ensure timely, high-quality delivery aligned with business goals.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer with a proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and high-quality code
• Hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot or comparable backend frameworks in production environments
• Demonstrated success owning and releasing high-traffic features or leading major platform migrations with minimal disruption
• Proficiency in leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude) as a productivity enhancer while retaining full responsibility for code integrity, architecture, and problem-solving
• Strong commitment to testing, system stability, and performance optimization to ensure a resilient and responsive platform
• Customer-centric mindset with empathy for end-users, particularly understanding the operational needs of dental practices
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to give and receive feedback constructively in a diverse, team-oriented environment
