- • Own the architecture and evolution of our core backend services that power AI-driven lead generation for thousands of B2B sales professionals worldwide. You will design, build, and scale distributed systems that process millions of data points daily, turning raw web signals into high-intent prospects in real time.
- • Lead the transition from our current monolithic Python/Django stack to a microservices architecture running on Kubernetes and AWS. You’ll make critical decisions on service boundaries, data contracts, and deployment strategies that will define the engineering culture for years to come.
- • Build resilient data pipelines that ingest, clean, enrich, and score leads using a mix of third-party APIs, web scraping, and proprietary ML models. Expect to work with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis) and batch frameworks (Airflow, Spark) to guarantee sub-minute freshness for every prospect delivered to our users.
- • Optimize for scale and cost: our user base tripled last quarter, and we need systems that can 10× without linearly increasing cloud spend. You will profile, benchmark, and refactor hot paths, introduce caching layers (Redis, Elasticache), and negotiate reserved capacity deals to keep unit economics healthy.
- • Champion observability and reliability. You’ll embed SLIs/SLOs, distributed tracing, and chaos testing into daily workflows so that sales reps trust every lead we surface. On-call rotation is lightweight (one week every eight), but you’ll be the go-to expert when latency spikes or data anomalies appear.
- • Collaborate tightly with our ML engineers to productionize new models that predict buying intent. You’ll wrap Python-based models in high-throughput, low-latency services (FastAPI, gRPC) and design feature stores that feed both offline training and online inference with millisecond response times.
- • Mentor mid-level engineers through architecture reviews, pair programming, and career-growth plans. We believe in “T-shaped” skill sets: deep backend expertise plus empathy for frontend, product, and sales. You’ll run weekly tech talks and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- • Influence product strategy by translating customer pain points into technical roadmaps. Sales leaders regularly join our sprint reviews; you’ll demo performance gains and data quality improvements that directly translate to revenue impact.
- • Ensure security and compliance from day one. Our customers include Fortune 500 companies that demand SOC 2, GDPR, and CCPA adherence. You’ll implement encryption at rest/in transit, IAM policies, and audit trails without slowing down feature velocity.
- • Experiment fearlessly. Every quarter we allocate 10 % of engineering time to “wild-card” projects—whether that’s a GraphQL gateway for self-serve analytics or a Rust rewrite of our most CPU-intensive enrichment worker. You’ll have budget and autonomy to explore.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of backend development with Python (Django/FastAPI) and at least one statically typed language (Go, Java, or Rust) in production.
- • Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems on AWS (EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda) with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CDK).
- • Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL data modeling at scale (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch) and event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS/SQS).
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with data engineering tools (Airflow, dbt, Spark) and machine-learning model serving (TensorFlow Serving, BentoML).
