• • Partner daily with front-end squads, product managers, QA and DevOps to translate ambitious product visions into rock-solid technical blueprints, ensuring every API contract is clear, versioned and future-proof.
• • Champion performance at scale: profile, benchmark and refactor critical paths so that our systems stay lightning-fast even when traffic spikes 10× during Black Friday flash sales.
• • Secure everything you touch: implement OAuth2, rate-limiting, input validation and encryption best-practices so that customer data and payment flows exceed PCI-DSS and GDPR requirements.
• • Build resilient data layers: choose the right storage strategy—MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch or S3—and craft elegant migrations that run with zero downtime across multi-region clusters.
• • Integrate and extend: connect to payment gateways, domain registrars, email providers and AI services, wrapping third-party quirks behind clean internal SDKs that the rest of the company loves to use.
• • Automate relentlessly: write PHPUnit and Behat suites that gate every pull request, spin up Docker containers in CI, and push green builds to production dozens of times per day.
• • Document like you mean it: generate OpenAPI specs, sequence diagrams and runbooks that turn tribal knowledge into living artifacts, empowering new engineers to ship on day one.
• • Monitor, alert and heal: instrument services with Prometheus, Grafana and Sentry, define SLIs/SLOs, and wake up only when the pager really matters.
• • Mentor and level-up the team: conduct architecture reviews, pair-program with juniors, and introduce fresh design patterns that keep our 900-person crew at the cutting edge.
• • Experiment and innovate: prototype micro-services in Laravel, evaluate Kafka vs PubSub for event sourcing, and pitch your findings during quarterly OKR parties that double as workations.
