📋 Description

• • Architect, build, and own the core back-end services that power Versana’s real-time syndicated-loan data platform—handling millions of loan-level updates per day with sub-second latency and zero tolerance for data loss.
• • Design and evolve secure, performant, and horizontally scalable micro-services in Java (Spring / Spring Boot) that expose REST and GraphQL APIs consumed by internal and external stakeholders ranging from global banks to institutional investors.
• • Implement event-driven state machines and stream-processing pipelines (Kafka, Pulsar, or similar) to ingest, validate, enrich, and distribute loan data in real time while guaranteeing exactly-once semantics and strict SLAs.
• • Collaborate daily with front-end engineers, product managers, and quant researchers to translate complex financial workflows into elegant technical solutions—turning regulatory requirements and trader feedback into shippable features every two-week sprint.
• • Champion clean-code practices: write unit, integration, and contract tests that achieve >80 % coverage; enforce linting rules; and conduct rigorous peer reviews to maintain a codebase that new engineers can onboard to in days, not weeks.
• • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins) that deliver containerized services to Kubernetes clusters on Azure with automated security scanning, blue-green deployments, and instant rollback capabilities.
• • Optimize SQL and NoSQL data stores (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB) for high-throughput read/write patterns, implement partitioning strategies, and tune query plans to keep p95 response times under 100 ms—even during month-end peak loads.
• • Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability standards (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) so the squad detects anomalies before clients do and resolves incidents within SLO-defined windows.
• • Lead incident response and root-cause analyses, turning production surprises into backlog items that harden the platform against future failures.
• • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pair programming, brown-bag sessions, and architecture reviews—growing Charlotte’s tech hub into a recognized center of excellence for financial data engineering.
• • Partner with InfoSec to embed encryption, least-privilege IAM, and audit logging into every layer of the stack, ensuring SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance without slowing delivery velocity.
• • Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap: evaluate emerging technologies (DAML for smart contracts, GraphQL federation, or serverless patterns) and run proof-of-concepts that keep Versana two steps ahead of the syndicated-loan market’s evolution.
• • Translate business KPIs—such as reducing settlement times from T+3 to T+1—into measurable engineering objectives, and track progress via OKRs that directly influence company valuation and customer NPS.
