- • As a Senior Business Analyst at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC), you will be instrumental in driving complex business initiatives by facilitating in-depth research and analysis. Your primary focus will be on discerning intricate business needs, meticulously eliciting, documenting, and managing requirements, and subsequently developing comprehensive business and functional requirements. These will be crucial for solving significant and complex business challenges through the strategic implementation of enabling technology and the enhancement of existing business processes.
- • Your work will encompass a broad scope, addressing the needs of larger business units, optimizing processes, and understanding the wider solution context or domain. A key aspect of this role involves close collaboration with technical partners to ensure clear and accurate communication of business requirements, bridging the gap between business objectives and technical execution.
- • You will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and managing requirements for changes to business processes, policies, information, and information systems. This includes tackling larger and/or more complex business problems, ensuring that proposed solutions align with strategic goals and operational efficiency.
- • A significant part of your role will involve developing and eliciting requirements for departmental and corporate projects that are of a more complex nature, as requested by internal and external customers. You will prepare detailed business and functional requirements that serve as the blueprint for development and implementation.
- • You will play a critical role in communicating and validating these requirements with a diverse range of stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs), ensuring buy-in and alignment across all parties involved.
- • Ensuring the creation of and adherence to a robust requirements approach and management plan is essential. You will work in alignment with the overall project plan, collaborating closely with project teams to maintain solution scope and meticulously create and maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- • You will drive and execute business readiness activities, including the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication plan to support changes related to technology, processes, and people, ensuring a smooth transition for all affected parties.
- • Support for training initiatives and the conduct of focused analysis will be key to ensuring the efficiency of project implementations and guaranteeing that desired business outcomes are achieved.
- • You will develop new procedures, create specifications for systems changes, and formulate other solution recommendations for more complex product and/or process changes. This involves working collaboratively with cross-functional management and staff to effectively implement these changes.
- • Designing and conducting post-implementation audits, and creating customer feedback mechanisms, will be vital for gathering ongoing information about business processes. You will analyze the results of these audits and feedback to create actionable plans for addressing identified weaknesses and driving continuous improvement.
- • Identifying the business process and organizational impact of proposed solutions is a core responsibility. You will conduct thorough analysis of workflow processes and designs, and then test and implement these solutions. Ensuring a managed requirements change request process and maintaining documentation throughout the project lifecycle are critical to project success.
- • You will develop and maintain sophisticated reporting tools for measuring business area performance against key metrics and industry benchmarks. This includes ensuring data integrity and systems stability to support effective operations management.
- • Providing timely and accurate access to data, distributing reports, and presenting and explaining results to the supported business areas, as well as other BCBSNC areas, is a key function. You will also work with trainers to develop targeted training programs that address identified problem areas.
- • You will utilize and promote industry-standard analysis techniques, such as data flow modeling, use-case analysis, workflow analysis, business process mapping, functional decomposition analysis, and financial ROI modeling, particularly for larger and more complex initiatives.
- • Independently create effective presentations suitable for review by varied levels of leadership. You will thoroughly document all analysis assumptions, procedures, and results in a manner appropriate for both senior executive and management review, ensuring clarity and impact.
- • Proactively identify areas of potential business risk, whether within or outside of your direct control on projects, and make recommendations for mitigation. You will escalate risks as necessary to ensure timely resolution and minimize impact.
- • Build and support strong business vendor relationships by clearly documenting business issues, determining project needs, and supporting training as required, fostering collaborative partnerships.
- • Provide oversight and regularly perform peer reviews for less experienced analysts, contributing to the development and growth of the business analysis team.
