Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own end-to-end clearing operations across Polymarket’s Control Desk, Clearinghouse, DCO, DCM, and ISV functions as a CFTC-regulated Designated Contract Market and Derivatives Clearing Organization.
- • Evaluate and redesign the existing DCO clearing environment to support scale, identifying what must be built, improved, or replaced to meet regulatory and operational demands.
- • Create, maintain, and update all clearing-related SOPs, runbooks, escalation paths, and internal documentation — writing new documents where none exist and revising outdated ones.
- • Partner daily with Control Desk, Clearinghouse, DCM, DCO, Finance, Treasury, Compliance, Product, Engineering, ISV, and CX teams to ensure seamless clearing operations and drive cross-functional improvements.
- • Serve as the operational thought leader for client-facing process quality, translating user pain points into back-office process enhancements and SLA improvements.
- • Manage treasury workflows including cash movement, reconciliation, settlement, and liquidity tracking — understanding the full lifecycle of funds from trade execution to final settlement.
- • Define, propose, document, and enforce SLAs where none currently exist, holding internal teams accountable to operational standards.
- • Identify operational gaps, control weaknesses, and tooling deficiencies, bringing forward actionable solutions rather than just raising observations.
- • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to design and improve clearing tools, exception management workflows, dashboards, and internal controls infrastructure.
- • Lead issue triage and resolution for clearing, settlement, treasury, and exchange operations, maintaining composure and speed during high-pressure, high-stakes incidents.
- • Operate within a regulated financial environment with a practical understanding of compliance requirements, audit readiness, and control frameworks.
- • Build processes from the ground up in a fast-moving, startup-scale environment where existing frameworks are minimal or non-existent.
- • Act as a senior operational authority with the autonomy to make independent decisions while remaining deeply hands-on in execution and documentation.
- • Ensure all clearing activities align with Polymarket’s mission to become a transparent, market-based beacon of truth in global media through reliable, scalable infrastructure.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of hands-on experience in financial markets operations with direct, demonstrated depth across clearing, settlement, and treasury
- • Hands-on experience with treasury management, liquidity operations, cash movement, and reconciliation workflows — understanding where money moves at every point in the lifecycle
- • Strong working knowledge of clearing workflows, trade lifecycle, reconciliation, settlement, operational controls, and escalation management
- • Experience operating in regulated financial services environments with a practical understanding of compliance and control requirements
- • Ability to independently create SOPs, process maps, controls documentation, and runbooks without needing guidance
- • Self-starter mentality with proven ability to identify priorities and act without direction in a high-velocity environment
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary & equity
- • Unlimited PTO
- • Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage
- • 401k match
- • Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories
