• • Your primary responsibility will be to architect, build, and maintain secure cloud platforms that underpin significant transformation programmes. This involves a deep understanding of AWS services, a commitment to security-first principles, and the application of modern platform engineering and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methodologies. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our clients' cloud environments, often within highly regulated sectors.
• • Key responsibilities will include:
• • Designing and implementing robust AWS Landing Zones, ensuring a secure and compliant foundation for cloud adoption. This includes establishing foundational security controls, identity and access management (IAM) policies, and network configurations that meet stringent regulatory requirements.
• • Building and managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, with a strong emphasis on Terraform. You will be responsible for developing, testing, and deploying IaC modules to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources, ensuring consistency, repeatability, and version control.
• • Developing, maintaining, and optimising CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable software delivery and infrastructure updates. This involves integrating tools and processes that support automated testing, deployment, and monitoring, fostering a culture of continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• • Delivering secure and scalable cloud solutions tailored for regulated environments, such as central government and defence. This requires a thorough understanding of compliance frameworks, security best practices, and the ability to implement solutions that meet specific security and data residency requirements.
• • Applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to enhance the reliability, availability, and performance of cloud platforms. You will focus on defining service level objectives (SLOs), implementing robust monitoring and alerting strategies, and developing incident response plans to minimise downtime and ensure operational excellence.
• • Collaborating effectively with internal Cloudscaler teams, including architects, security specialists, and project managers, as well as client stakeholders at various levels. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences will be crucial for successful project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
• • Proactively identifying and mitigating risks associated with cloud deployments, including security vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, and operational challenges. You will contribute to risk assessments and develop strategies to address potential issues before they impact production environments.
• • Staying abreast of the latest AWS services, features, and best practices, and evaluating their potential application to enhance our solutions and client offerings. Continuous learning and professional development are key to maintaining our position at the forefront of cloud technology.
• • Participating in the full lifecycle of cloud projects, from initial design and proof-of-concept phases through to deployment, operation, and ongoing optimisation. This end-to-end involvement ensures a comprehensive understanding of project goals and challenges.
