📋 Description

• • Lead the modernization of mission-critical .NET applications at Rackspace Technology Global, Inc. as a Senior Cloud .NET Application Migration Developer. You will be the technical anchor who shapes the future of our clients’ systems, guiding them from legacy .NET Framework to cloud-native .NET 8 and .NET Standard 2.0 architectures.
• • Own end-to-end migration strategy for Job Engine plugins and shared libraries, sequencing work in strict dependency order to eliminate risk and minimize downtime. You will audit existing codebases, map interdependencies, and create a phased migration roadmap that aligns with customer release calendars.
• • Tackle compatibility roadblocks head-on by upgrading third-party NuGet packages or sourcing functionally equivalent alternatives. When no drop-in replacement exists, you will design and implement custom adapters that preserve API contracts and maintain backward compatibility.
• • Champion engineering excellence by embedding security-first coding practices, enforcing style guides, and driving rigorous pull-request reviews. You will author concise yet comprehensive technical documentation that becomes the single source of truth for future maintainers.
• • Collaborate daily with product managers, QA engineers, and customer stakeholders to translate business goals into technical deliverables. You will run sprint-planning sessions, estimate effort with confidence, and provide transparent progress updates that keep every stakeholder aligned.
• • Build and execute automated unit and integration test suites that validate functional parity between legacy and migrated components. You will configure CI/CD pipelines to run these tests on every commit, ensuring zero regression as code evolves.
• • Provide Fanatical Support for production systems by triaging alerts, reproducing elusive bugs, and shipping hotfixes with minimal customer impact. You will participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation and maintain a blameless post-mortem culture that turns incidents into learning opportunities.
• • Design plugin-based architectures that support dynamic loading of device-polling modules for SNMP, WMI, and gRPC endpoints. Your extensible designs will enable customers to onboard new device types without touching core platform code.
• • Mentor junior developers through pair programming, brown-bag sessions, and code-review feedback. You will curate an internal knowledge base of migration patterns, performance tuning tips, and troubleshooting playbooks that accelerate team velocity.
• • Stay ahead of the curve by evaluating emerging .NET features, cloud services, and DevOps tooling. You will run proof-of-concept spikes and present findings that influence Rackspace’s long-term technical strategy.
