- • Serve as Senior Commercial Counsel for a mission-driven, high-growth cloud company specializing in real-time analytics, data warehousing, and data observability.
- • Report directly to the Associate General Counsel as an early member of the company’s legal team.
- • Review, draft, and negotiate customer agreements including SaaS contracts, terms of service, and other commercial documents to support revenue-generating activities.
- • Provide legal support specifically for sales and revenue teams across the Americas, including Latin America (LATAM).
- • Collaborate closely with sales, customer success, and product teams to ensure legal risk is balanced with business objectives.
- • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with commercial transactions and customer engagements.
- • Advise on compliance with applicable laws and regulations impacting software licensing, data privacy, and international sales.
- • Draft and maintain standardized contract templates and playbooks to improve efficiency and consistency in commercial negotiations.
- • Act as the primary legal point of contact for sales teams during contract lifecycle management, from initial review through execution and renewal.
- • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to scale legal operations in alignment with the company’s rapid growth trajectory.
- • Stay current on evolving legal trends in cloud technology, data governance, and commercial contracting within the SaaS industry.
- • Manage multiple concurrent negotiations with enterprise and mid-market customers while maintaining high standards of accuracy and responsiveness.
- • Work remotely with a strong preference for candidates residing in the Mountain or Central Time Zone to facilitate alignment with sales and operational teams.
- • Contribute to the development of legal strategy and processes as the company scales its legal function from an early-stage team.
- • Ensure all commercial agreements align with company policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- • Provide guidance on contract interpretation, dispute avoidance, and customer-specific legal requests without compromising legal integrity.
- • Maintain detailed records of contract terms, negotiation history, and legal approvals in accordance with internal compliance protocols.
- • Support ad hoc legal needs related to commercial partnerships, vendor agreements, and third-party integrations impacting revenue streams.
- • Represent the legal team in internal meetings and training sessions to educate sales and business units on contractual obligations and risk thresholds.
- • Balance speed-to-market demands with appropriate legal safeguards to enable business growth while protecting company interests.
