- • As Senior Communications Manager for the United States at Back Market Inc., you will own the full communications remit for one of the company's highest-priority markets, shaping corporate reputation, consumer storytelling, and earned-influencer strategy to establish refurbished tech as a trusted, mainstream choice.
- • Day to day, you will manage a local PR agency, lead integrated earned communications strategies across corporate, consumer, and influencer channels, advise senior executives on narrative and reputation, prepare leaders for media engagements, track and analyze media performance, and activate culturally relevant storytelling and mission-aligned partnerships.
- • Back Market is a global marketplace for refurbished devices committed to reducing environmental impact by offering trustworthy, affordable tech with 92% less carbon emissions than new, operating as a certified B Corp with a mission to do more with what we already have.
- • In this role, you will develop strategic communications that influence executive decision-making, build brand authority in sustainability and tech media, cultivate authentic influencer advocacy, and drive measurable impact on brand perception and category adoption in the US market.
🎯 Requirements
- • Significant experience (typically 8-12 years) leading integrated communication programmes for US audiences with a strong track record across corporate, consumer, and influencer disciplines.
- • Hands-on experience managing PR agencies and external partners, with the ability to hold them to high performance standards.
- • Strong writing and editing skills across all PR formats: pitches, press releases, executive talking points, briefing documents, and long-form narrative content.
- • Proven executive counsel experience — comfortable advising and challenging senior stakeholders, and trusted to represent the brand's interests in high-stakes situations.
- • Direct, active relationships with reporters and editors who shape national conversations in technology, business, sustainability, and culture.
- • Experience serving as a company spokesperson and the primary media-facing representative for a brand or executive team.
