📋 Description

• As Senior Counsel (12-Month FTC) at SoSafe GmbH, you will serve as a strategic legal advisor enabling the company’s mission to become Europe’s leading human risk management provider by supporting commercial, privacy, and AI-related legal matters across global operations.
• You will play a critical role in safeguarding SoSafe’s rapid international expansion by ensuring legally sound, business-aligned solutions that empower teams to innovate while managing risk in a high-growth SaaS environment.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will include advising headquarters, regional, and local teams on customer-facing transactions, product development, privacy compliance, and AI governance, ensuring legal alignment with business objectives.
• You will draft, negotiate, and maintain a wide range of commercial contracts and templates, including SaaS agreements, data processing addendums, and vendor contracts, while establishing scalable processes to accelerate deal closure.
• You will provide expert guidance on EU and international privacy regulations (such as GDPR), implement compliant frameworks for AI usage, and advise on emerging legal risks related to artificial intelligence and data protection.
• You will partner with cross-functional teams — including product, engineering, sales, and security — to proactively identify legal risks and deliver pragmatic, business-oriented solutions that support innovation without compromising compliance.
• You will act as a trusted legal advisor to leadership and stakeholders, helping navigate complex jurisdictional requirements as SoSafe expands across Europe and into new global markets.
• You will contribute to building a mature legal function by improving contract lifecycle management, standardizing legal templates, and fostering a culture of legal awareness and proactive risk management.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in technology law, particularly at the intersection of SaaS, privacy, AI regulation, and international commercial law, while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-scaling, VC-backed cybersecurity scale-up.
• You will develop leadership and influence skills by advising senior stakeholders, shaping legal strategy, and contributing to SoSafe’s long-term vision of becoming the global standard in human risk management.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience as a commercial lawyer or in-house legal counsel within the SaaS or technology sector
• Fully qualified lawyer in Germany or at least one of SoSafe’s regional market jurisdictions
• Strong working knowledge of commercial contracting, privacy law (including GDPR), and technology-related legal matters
• Familiarity with AI-related legal considerations, such as advising on AI tools, use cases, policies, or governance frameworks
• Excellent English language skills (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
