This Senior Customer Data Engineer role is pivotal in constructing and enhancing the backend services, integrations, and internal applications that empower our revenue teams to operate efficiently and at scale. You will be the architect and builder of the technical backbone for our commercial technology stack, meticulously weaving together product usage data, contract details, subscription information, and comprehensive customer data.
• • Your work will directly fuel critical business functions, including ensuring billing accuracy, enabling precise renewal forecasting, and developing sophisticated customer health scoring mechanisms. This is far more than a typical systems integration role; you will be instrumental in establishing the technical foundation that allows Elliptic to gain deep insights into and effectively act upon commercial realities throughout the entire customer lifecycle, from initial engagement through to renewal and expansion.
• • You will define the standards for how commercial data is structured, stored, and accessed, architecting the backend systems that are essential for data-driven decision-making, ensuring billing precision, and paving the way for future AI-powered automation within our revenue operations.
• • This position uniquely sits at the confluence of backend engineering, commercial systems management, and revenue operations. You will be responsible for translating complex business requirements originating from our marketing, sales, and customer success departments into elegantly designed data schemas, highly reliable integrations, and intuitive internal tools that streamline business processes and enhance operational effectiveness.
• • You will tackle critical business challenges, such as proactively identifying customers exceeding their contracted usage limits in real-time, thereby enabling commercial teams to intervene before issues escalate. You will also develop unified views of customer health by integrating product activity, support ticket data, and commercial metrics, providing actionable insights to prevent churn.
• • Furthermore, you will streamline complex contract update processes, which currently involve multiple teams and manual data handling, by building internal tools that empower operations teams to manage commercial data directly, complete with robust validation and audit trails. You will also resolve discrepancies between different systems, such as CRM and billing platforms, by designing integrations and data models that ensure data consistency and accuracy across the organization.
