- • Provide technical solutions to customers to ensure successful adoption and usage of Astronomer’s managed Apache Airflow® platform.
- • Troubleshoot customer environments through active triaging, diagnosing issues, and collaborating directly with customers to resolve incidents.
- • Respond to incidents raised by customers or monitoring systems, ensuring timely resolution and preventing recurrence through root cause analysis.
- • Operate, monitor, and maintain the underlying cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters that power the Astro platform.
- • Build, enhance, and maintain observability and alerting systems to improve platform reliability and proactively detect issues.
- • Develop and sustain automation scripts and workflows to streamline daily operational tasks and reduce manual toil.
- • Contribute to product architecture decisions by translating customer feedback and operational insights into actionable improvements for engineering teams.
- • Own the end-to-end customer experience by prioritizing issues, meeting SLAs, and delivering personalized, "white glove" guidance for production deployment.
- • Enhance and enrich customer-facing documentation to improve self-service capabilities and reduce support burden.
- • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation with a specified 6-hour pager window during your workday and paid weekend coverage.
- • Work within a fully distributed, remote team to support customers across multiple time zones and industries.
- • Engage with customers using diverse cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and varying infrastructure requirements.
- • Operate a modern, cloud-native, distributed system that integrates with dozens of external data systems and tools.
- • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to communicate customer pain points, feature requests, and operational constraints.
- • Maintain high standards of reliability, predictability, and availability for a mission-critical DataOps platform used by 800+ enterprise customers.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience operating large, complex cloud infrastructures at scale
- • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- • Proven experience managing production distributed systems on at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- • Strong network expertise within a major cloud environment
- • Advanced Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills
- • Experience with observability tools and monitoring distributed systems
