- • Provide technical support and leadership in delivering technology solutions for customer digital transformation initiatives, focusing on mainframe modernization.
- • Work on complex project scopes with minimal direction, collaborating with customer and systems integrator representatives to accomplish assigned tasks.
- • Contribute to the design and deployment of Rocket Enterprise Suite products, applying subject matter expertise to resolve technical issues independently.
- • Implement new solutions under the guidance of Delivery Architects while ensuring alignment with customer requirements and technical standards.
- • Participate in technical forums within the Rocket Enterprise Suite environment to share knowledge and improve solution quality.
- • Exercise independent judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions for technical challenges and customer requests.
- • Communicate project status, risks, and technical findings clearly to project technical leads and project managers.
- • Provide sound technical advice to customers, distinguishing between product defects and enhancement requests before escalation.
- • Deploy fit-for-purpose workloads in hybrid cloud infrastructures, transitioning from monolithic applications to cloud-native API microservices.
- • Embrace enterprise-wide DevOps disciplines to accelerate application delivery and improve operational efficiency.
- • Apply expertise in IBM Enterprise COBOL or PL/I programming, IBM CICS, IMS, JCL, and relational databases such as DB2/UDB, Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- • Utilize knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, Cloud Foundry, Docker, and Kubernetes to support modernization efforts.
- • Configure and manage automation pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, or Jenkins.
- • Participate in mainframe application modernization projects involving hardware/middleware emulation, automated code conversion, and re-platforming.
- • Migrate and modernize legacy data systems including IMS/DB, IDMS, ADABAS, and VSAM to contemporary platforms.
- • Apply agile engineering practices such as Test Automation, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and Test Data Management.
- • Maintain strong relationships with team members and customers while operating effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- • Analyze test results and facilitate defect resolution with an analytical, methodical approach to managing multiple concurrent tasks.
- • Communicate effectively in written and verbal English, with a confident telephone manner and strong customer service orientation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5-7 years of relevant technical experience in mainframe modernization or related IT project implementations
- • Must have Rocket Enterprise Server and Enterprise Developer experience
- • Technical proficiency in two or more of: IBM Enterprise COBOL/PLI, IBM CICS/IMS/JCL, DB2/UDB/Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL, Windows/Linux/UNIX, AWS/Azure/GCP/Cloud Foundry/Docker/Kubernetes
