Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Serve as the primary technical advisor and embedded representative for NexusOne at flagship enterprise accounts, acting as the trusted technical voice within the customer’s engineering and architecture teams.
- • Lead 70% of time in solution architecture and technical advisory, participating in daily technical operations including architecture review boards, security assessments, design discussions, integration planning, and platform governance forums.
- • Earn immediate technical credibility with senior engineers and architects by demonstrating deep, hands-on expertise in modern open-source data technologies — including Spark, Trino, Airflow, Iceberg, Kubernetes, and S3-compatible object storage — at enterprise scale.
- • Translate complex technical needs between the customer’s environment and NexusOne’s engineering team, ensuring accurate escalation of issues, clarification of design intent, and alignment on roadmap priorities without loss of fidelity.
- • Author high-quality technical artifacts such as architecture decision records, design memos, and executive briefs that are rigorously reviewed and accepted by the customer’s technical leadership.
- • Collaborate with Principal Solutions Architects and Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to provide complementary technical context, without replacing their role, while ensuring cohesive technical guidance at the account.
- • Own and maintain the complete technical narrative for each assigned account, keeping internal teams (engineering, product, FDEs, SAD, AE) aligned on customer technical status, challenges, and opportunities.
- • Route technical escalations efficiently to the correct internal NexusOne resource — engineering, DCRE support, Principal SA, or FDE — ensuring timely resolution without becoming a bottleneck.
- • Build and sustain strong relationships with the customer’s technical middle layer, including senior individual contributors, tech leads, and engineering managers, not just executive architects.
- • Support account expansion efforts by providing technical context for renewal and growth conversations, without owning commercial outcomes or sales targets.
- • Navigate complex enterprise vendor governance processes including third-party risk management (TPRM), audit responses, change control procedures, and compliance documentation for regulated industries.
- • Be physically present at the customer site in Charlotte, NC (primary) and New York City (secondary) at 80%+ cadence to maintain deep integration with customer teams.
- • Shape the evolving definition of Technical Account Management at NexusOne, contributing to best practices, processes, and tools based on real-world enterprise deployments.
- • Contribute to a culture of technical excellence by prioritizing shipping impactful solutions over documentation or meetings, and by embodying the company’s ethos of sovereign data and interoperable systems.
- • Engage with enterprise environments in highly regulated sectors including banking, insurance, healthcare, and public-sector institutions, where governance, risk, and control frameworks are mission-critical.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10–16 years in enterprise data/cloud architecture as an SA, principal engineer, TAM, or equivalent
- • At least one prior multi-year embedded engagement at a Tier 1 enterprise customer (bank, top-tier insurer, public-sector flagship, automotive OEM, healthcare system)
- • Hands-on or recent hands-on depth in the modern OSS data stack: Spark, Trino, Airflow, Iceberg, Kubernetes, S3-compatible object storage, Kafka — at scale
- • Track record of being the customer’s technical go-to person at a prior vendor engagement — named examples of "the customer's senior architects asked for me by name on this kind of problem"
- • Strong written technical communication — design memos, architecture decision records, exec briefs that hold up to senior technical review
- • Willingness to be on-site at the customer in Charlotte, NC (primary) and NYC (secondary) at 80%+ cadence for the WF deployment
🏖️ Benefits
- • A collaborative team culture built on curiosity and respect
- • Challenging work where your contributions clearly matter
- • A leadership team that invests in learning and development
- • The opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud, data, and AI innovation
