• As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you will operate at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation, tackling complex challenges across the full stack of our technology infrastructure. This includes safeguarding web applications, APIs, cloud environments, and internal systems. You will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, developing proactive defense mechanisms, and responding effectively to security incidents. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining Visa's reputation as a secure and reliable platform for global commerce.
• You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). This involves conducting security reviews, performing threat modeling, and providing guidance on secure coding principles. Your ability to translate complex security concepts into actionable recommendations for development teams will be key to fostering a security-first culture.
• Key responsibilities will encompass the design and implementation of security controls for cloud-native applications and services, leveraging your understanding of cloud security best practices for platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. You will develop and maintain security automation tools and scripts to streamline security operations, reduce manual effort, and enhance detection capabilities. This includes working with CI/CD pipelines to integrate security testing and validation.
• You will be involved in the architecture and implementation of security solutions such as Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDPS), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools. Your expertise in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation, will be essential in protecting our network perimeter and internal segments.
• Furthermore, you will contribute to incident response efforts, including the investigation of security breaches, analysis of forensic data, and the development of remediation plans. You will also participate in security awareness training and contribute to the continuous improvement of our security posture through regular assessments and audits.
• This role demands a deep understanding of full-stack development principles, enabling you to effectively assess and secure applications from the front-end user interface to the back-end databases and APIs. You will analyze application code for security flaws, implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms, and ensure data encryption at rest and in transit.
• You will stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends, proactively researching and recommending new security technologies and methodologies to enhance our defenses. Your ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences will be vital in advocating for security initiatives and fostering cross-functional collaboration.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in cybersecurity engineering, with a strong emphasis on full-stack security principles and practices.
• In-depth knowledge of common web vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and experience in securing web applications, APIs, and microservices.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, JavaScript) for scripting, automation, and security tool development.
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including IAM, network security groups, and security monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
• Experience with SIEM, WAF, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, firewalls).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
